Lots of amazing knowledge and great locations visited along with some quick stops along the journey to appreciate the stunning views and the Instagram worthy shots. We had a great trip with Gede. He was super knowledgeable, brought us to the main sights and was very warm and kind. We were travelling on the Queen Elizabeth cruise and Gede collected us from the port. He brought us to the temples, waterfalls, markets and finally the beach, where we had a swim. Hands down, one of the best days we had in Bali! Agung put together a personalized tour for us based on some sights I wanted to visit. The tour took us through some of the island’s most stunning temples and waterfalls, but what made it truly unforgettable was our guide himself, Agung. He’s the kind of guide you instantly want to be friends with—fun, kind, and full of fascinating local knowledge. It rained during part of our tour, but Agung had us totally covered—literally. We hebben een hele fijne en interessante rondleiding gehad, I Putu Merta heeft echt de tijd voor ons genomen. Eén van ons is net ziek geweest (waarschijnlijk bali belly) en hij heeft hier rekening mee gehouden door alleen te gaan eten bij tentjes waar het eten goed verhit (geserveerd) werd en hij koos overal voor de meest verse producten. Hij spreekt goed Engels en we gingen niet enkel eten proeven maar I Putu Merta vertelde ons van alles over het land en de cultuur. Hij nam echt uitgebreid de tijd hiervoor en we kregen absoluut niet het idee dat het gehaast ging, we hebben ruim 3 uur rond gewandeld en hij vraagt geregeld of je nog iets wil, maar je krijgt al zo veel eten dat wij het knap zouden vinden als dit nodig is. Het eten was allemaal erg lekker, natuurlijk heb je je voorkeuren maar niets viel ons tegen. Als wij weer in Bali komen zouden we zo nog een tour van I Putu Merta willen, we kunnen dit dan ook aan een ieder aanbevelen, het bleek één van de leukste activiteiten tijdens onze hele reis. Putu was an absolute delight and very happy to please our group. We started at the markets with a very informative tour and tried some delicious local fruits etc. and found out the local system with the different tiers of quality of vegetables going to restaurants, supermarkets and local suppliers. We then move to a beautiful Warung amongst a garden where Putu gave an very knowledgable talk about the value of us all visiting and contributing to the local market and how important tourism is to Bali. The food was all delicious (mostly vegan) yum. Lastly, the authentic coffee shop was our last visit where we experienced not only the delicious coffee but one of the original coffee places in Denpasar which had the coolest vibe and a awesome experience. Gede met us at the cruise dock in Benoa and took our party of 4 up into the hills for a truly Balanese experience . He arranged a driver with a big van (Toyota Hisense) to fit our large American bodies and all of our luggage. We visited several temples including the Holy Water Temple, a rice terrace, and a coffee shop tasting where we could sample Luwak (chat) coffee. Great experience! Gede planned a full day for us and we had a fantastic time. The lunch spot he selected was outstanding. Once we were worn out, he delivered us to our hotel in Dusa Nua. A fun day was had by all! Cose negative: - [ ] Didi non era presente durante l’escursione ma un driver é venuto al suo posto, non una guida privata - [ ] Durante tutta la giornata abbiamo provato a contattare Didi ma non abbiamo ottenuto risposta - [ ] Alla prima fermata, il Batuan Village temple, ogni domanda che rivolgevamo al nostro accompagnatore non sapeva come rispondere, perché non originario di questa città. - [ ] Dopo aver pagato di più per avere un tour personalizzato, modificando due tappe, si è rivelato impossibile da eseguire completamente per mancanza di tempo. Quindi abbiamo dovuto rimodificarlo e tornare ad un piano simile a quello originale fermandoci in una tappa durante il percorso (monkey forest) per poter sfruttare il tempo a nostra disposizione, eliminando quelle richieste (Tengelalang waterfall e Go Gajah temple) - [ ] Nonostante abbiamo cercato di contattare Didi per poter avere l’ingresso al Monkey forest incluso, come da preventivo originale, non abbiamo mai ricevuto risposta e quindi abbiamo dovuto spendere 200.000 IDR di tasca nostra per l’ingresso al Monkey Forest - [ ] dopo aver ricevuto pressione durante la visita al rice terrace per paura di arrivare in ritardo allo spettacolo di danza conclusivo, siamo arrivati con mezz’ora di anticipo. - [ ] Per sfruttare al meglio quella mezz’ora guadagnata, nonostante abbiamo chiesto ripetutamente di fermarci per fare shopping durante il tragitto, il driver ci ha consigliato di andare in questo centro commerciale vicino al luogo dove si teneva lo spettacolo perché, a suo dire, avevano la stessa merce. Si è rivelato un luogo di scarsissima qualità da cui siamo usciti 5 minuti dopo. Nonostante lo abbiamo avvisato dell’accaduto ha continuato a bere il suo caffè e fumare la sigaretta dicendo che non c’era più tempo per andare altrove, finendo quindi per non poter più fare shopping e aspettare più di 15 minuti l’inizio dello showNot “Didi” on the picture or a local guide

We had one day in Bali after getting off a cruise ship and having a late evening flight, so we booked Agung to show us some of the sights. He picked us up from the dock at 9am and planned a full day of sightseeing for us, which, despite the weather not being the greatest, ended up being an extremely enjoyable day. Our 10 hour private tour with I Putu was wonderful. When booking, we provided some spots we wanted to see and Putu tailored the day to our wishes. He arrived on time at the Benoa cruise terminal and we located him from his photo and sign with our name on it. Putu explained our route for the day, he took into consideration when each location would be busy and incredibly timed our arrival at each stop when the big bus tours had not yet arrived or had already left. His knowledge of Bali’s culture and history was amazing and we certainly left the tour appreciating Bali even more. As you may already know from researching and planning your visit, the traffic is overwhelming. You do spend a lot of time in traffic, however EVERYONE does. Whatever tour you take, you will experience traffic. Putu was amazing and through the entire tour continually was providing us with information on all things Bali that kept us from feeling bored during the drive between locations. Putu was an excellent guide. He was extremely knowledgeable, was very understanding and flexible when half our group was late. The places he took us were amazing! Very fresh and delicious food! We loved our day tour of Bali with Agung. We were staying in Jimbaran, but this tour took us all over the island—including to areas we would not likely have explored on our own. We wanted to combine two of the offered tours (Bali highlights and the coffee tour) as we did not have time for both. Agung was extremely easy to work with and accommodated our requests happily.
