We thoroughly enjoyed the tour itself (hidden gems), but having gone to the trouble of viewing all the tour guide options, selecting Kasim, it was Zeba who turned up. What’s the point of choosing? Second, I thought the booking process was laborious. I didn’t want to pay in euros so spent an hour re figuring my settings. I even messaged Kasim to say I didn’t want to pay in euros, but got no reply. Eventually I found the answer in the help area. Why not make it obvious that euros are the only acceptable payment? I probably wasted an hour and a half. We have used With Locals twice before and awarded 10/10. Next time, if there was an alternative provider, we would probably select that for our city guide. Tour good but admin poor.

After booking the sightseeing tour we had the possibility to choose what we would like to see. We chose the sightseeing tour by car and have to pay 100 usd extra. We had an other guide then we asked for. Everything was very commercial and nothing to do ‘with local’. Very disappointed tour!Disappointed

Ali (as he introduced himself) was amazing! We were a group of 8. 4 of us are from the USA, our 4 friends are from SA. Whenever one travels to a foreign place there is a bit of trepidation of the unknown. Ali alleviated these concerns immediately. He responded quickly to our initial messages and was very flexible to our timing requests. He then walked us through the city, being ever mindful of our limited heat intolerance. He was extremely knowledgeable, while not being long winded. He is so obviously proud of his country, and wants to convey the wonders of his city to the traveler. He was annoyed at the amount of money our transport charged us getting to the meeting site, so he arranged are taxis back. At half the cost. Other tourists stopped and asked him questions on our tour, which he graciously answered. He is honestly a good person. We will look for him upon our return. Trip to Old Towne Dubai

The tour was exactly what I was looking for. I loved exploring the old town area with Orlina as she knew some good spots to go to that I probably would have overlooked going on my own. She is very knowledgeable about the history of Dubai and offered a lot of great information about the old town neighborhood and surrounding areas. *just a note if you’re booking on the website, make sure you notice what currency you’re being charged in. I actually paid $120 more than I thought because I didn’t notice change in currency.Enjoyable Tour, lots of unique areas

This was an awesome tour to kick of my first Dubai experience! It was focused on the old part of the city and I got to learn a lot about the history of the city while also getting to to see some of the main attractions such as the Souks. Orlina was very friendly and knowledgeable and you can tell she really cares about providing a good tour. The boat ride was one of my favorite parts of the tour and it was fun to see how things were back in the older days. I would definitely recommend Orlina as a great guide! Kasim was nice, patient and kind. We enjoyed the walked in the souks. The only reason why i didn't give it a 10 is because Kasim was quite late and the itinerary involves a bit much coffee drinking at the beginning and the kids got a bit impatient. My husband and I had a lovely experience with Sandy. We had great food and soo much food we were stuffed. My husband is vegetarian and his dietary needs were met at all spots. This was such an interesting and informative tour. Ikram answered all sorts of questions in addition to his clear explanations, to help us understand dubai and its history. It was relaxed and enjoyable. He gave us tips on all sorts of products and we did not get hassled walking with him. Crossing on the abra Was fun, and then we learnt about spices. I booked this tour because 1 had a long wait between landing and hotel check-in and it was the best decision ever! It was such a great way to see parts of the city and the tour guide lkram was so knowledgeable and accomodating. We did the streetfood tour with Sandy and a had a great time. The communication was good and Sandy gave us good explanation about the meeting point, as well as the traffic at this time. The range of food was excellent and we visited restaurants, which we would never had found on our own as tourists. Sandy is a great tour guide and we got special prices at the spice market as the sellers know him. He made our trip to Dubai very special as we love to experiance local food on our vacations. Ikraam was a fantastic host. We had a 9 hour layover in Dubai flying back to New Zealand and found this tour on his website. I was with my four kids (14-20) and Ikraam picked us up at 2:30am (! and he was wide awake and full of energy! We toured around Dubai together to old parts, new parts and him and his driver were fantastic hosts. He told us many stories about the history of Dubai and he is a very passionate and fantastic story teller. He showed us many videos of what life is like in Dubai while we were driving. We saw so many incredible landmarks and fell in love with all the amazing sites in Dubai. A perfect length of time and break before the 17 hour flight home. We tasted 14 different things not just the 10 advertised. It's certainly a very filling trip and not solely based around food. Well worth it. Kasim was not available so Melwyn showed us around. It was a really interesting and yummy tour. In addition to trying some delicious food, and telling us about the history of Dubai, we got an in depth understanding of life as an immigrant to this crazy city. He’s certainly not a newcomer, having been here for more than 20 years, but the gap between the Emiratis and all the others who make the economy and society run is very real. We ate traditional Lebanese in one of the oldest buildings in the city, chicken and shrimp by the water, and camel burgers in a family home turned restaurant. They were distinct experiences and getting from one to another was where the experience was. We had a limited time in Dubai and this was a terrific way to get a totally different experience of the city. Would highly recommend!Fascinating tour with Melwyn
