Marco was an excellent tour guide who speaks flawless English. We learned lots about Dubrovnik history and about modern Dubrovnik. Marco answered all our questions and gave us pointers on food and craft beer. When he found out that some of the group are Game of Thrones fans, he told us about the filming in the city. What an amazing time we spent with Mia! She is extremely knowledgeable, charming, and fun to listen to. We heard and learned so much. She provided an in-depth historic timeline and provided amazing insights and stories, even her personal experience of the war. Our flight to Dubrovnik was delayed but Vesna did her absolute best to accommodate our schedule. Vesna was personable, knowledgeable and gracious. As a Dubrovnik native, Marko was incredibly knowledgeable about Croatia, the city and its history. He told us remarkable and personal stories about the 1991-92 war and its effect on Croatia. Vlaho did a beautiful job mixed history, experience and a world of knowledge about his beautiful home town of Dubrovnik. He messaged me back and forth and patiently made sure all my questions were answered. Vlaho gave my group perfect instructions as to where to meet him. My wife has troubles with lots of stairs, cobblestones and inclines. He made sure that she knew in advance where the few steps were and watched out for her through the whole your. From the time we started the tour, Vlaho explained very articulately how history brought us to where we were right then and there. He explained how things have changed over the years. He didn’t miss a step. He made us feel like locals walking through small side streets discussing whatever we saw. My wife and I have been traveling for over 40 years and I consider Vlaho one of the best tour guides we ever had. When you come to Dubrovnik, you must tour with Vlaho. Marco exceeded our expectations. He lead us through Dubrovnik with great history, funny stories and patience. Our large group of 14 was grateful for the transportation from our cruise port to the city gates. Marco helped us shop, arranged for a tour of Lokrum island. He arranged for a lovely lunch at the only restaurant on the island and took us through ruins and botanical gardens. We enjoyed swimming on the island and cliff jumping into the clear waters. Jardanka showed us Dubrovnik old town in a way that we could appreciate her town without being overwhelmed with history. She pointed out the less obvious things around old town away from the crowds. Our tour with Vesna was one of the highlights of our time in Croatia. She grew up inside the walls of Dubrovnik—a true local in a seemingly fairytale place. Her description of how her family lived during the war moved me to tears, and left us with images of what life inside the walls was really like. This tour was unique as it combined the old history of the city with its more recent history. We ended our tour with a much greater appreciation for the place. We spent much of our trip trying to learn more about the war. Vesna is such a genuine, lovely person. She was so generous in sharing her very personal stories with us. Mis was great about contacting us immediately upon our reservation and again shortly before we arrived. On our one day in Dubrovnik we met Mia and got her unique perspective along with some ancient and recent history of the city. She is very energetic and upbeat, intelligent and easy to talk with. Mia knows Dubrovnik like the back of her hand, and did such a wonderful job showing us around and offering suggestions for our trip. She even took the time to call an attraction for us and ask about the accessibility since I was navigating the trip with a mobility scooter. Mia was so adaptable to that challenge, and helped a lot with ensuring we could maximize our trip given these limitations. I loved how Mia interspersed information about history, art, and culture with her own personal anecdotes about growing up in Dubrovnik. It felt so intimate and special to be on this tour with her. She is very well trained in hospitality, and her English is amazing. My one note of improvement would be just being less insistent about things and reacting to guest feedback. For instance Mia told us that the time we were going to cross the border during our trip was going to be a huge problem. We knew that it might be busy, but felt we couldn't wake up early to leave at the time Mia suggested because we would be exhausted. When we said we understood that we might have to wait and it was fine she kept insisting it would be a problem and brought it up at least two other times even though this was not related to our tour itself. The advice is appreciated but I think once people tell you "no" it should be enough. Another way this came up was in one part of the tour Mia was telling this very graphic disturbing story of how hangings worked and what people's bodies looked like after hangings. She brought a lot of detail to this and even though I was visibly shaking my head and saying ooh too much and covering my ears with my hands she just finished the whole story. It’s not such an important story that it should take precedence over your guests’ preferences when there are only 2 people (myself and my husband). I’m still trying to forget the disturbing details, and I know about myself that I don’t enjoy graphic stories just like we knew about ourselves that we wouldn’t be able to get up early to cross the border and still be in a good mood. Mia could do better to trust her guests' instincts about themselves. Other than that she is an excellent tour guide, and we appreciated her very much. Adaptable and relatable tour guide

We did an early morning private tour of Dubrovnik with Mia. It was a beautiful cool morning and the town was not yet crowded. Mia is from Dubrovnik and shared her experience of living through the 1990's. She pointed out places affected by this war. During our stroll, we stopped for coffee and a delicious treat! Mia also showed us local restaurants, where gelato and desserts are made fresh every morning, the local resident's beer hangout and the locally owned shops to visit. We visited all of them the next day and were not disappointed. Mia has a great personality, too! I definitely encourage you to walk the Old Town of Durbrovnik early in the morning with Mia!!Excellent Morning with Mia!

I really enjoyed my tour with Mia. Once she found out that I had replacement knees, she designed the tour around my limited capabilities Whilst giving me and extensive tour of the old town, she avoided us climbing excessive steps. Jadranka was everything you want in a local guide. We enjoyed watching her interactions with several local residents, and loved how kindly she spoke with them, and how they obviously adored her. I mentioned to her that one of our party needed a slower pace, and she accommodated this request with grace and patience. If you're visiting Dubrovnik, hiring Mia as your local guide is an absolute must! From the very beginning, her pre-trip communication was clear and prompt, setting the stage for a seamless experience. Mia was incredibly helpful, providing excellent recommendations on where to eat, what to see, and crucially, when to visit various attractions. Following her advice to start our tour early in the morning was a game-changer. We explored most of the old city before the crowds and heat set in, making the experience far more enjoyable. Her knowledge of the area's history is impressive, and she shares it with great enthusiasm, making the tour both educational and engaging. Mia excels at pointing out local gems for coffee, gelato, and meals, ensuring we enjoyed the best Dubrovnik has to offer. She also arranged a car and driver to transfer us to Trogir, suggesting stops in Ston and Mali Ston along the way. Thoughtfully, she made a lunch reservation in Ston for us to sample the famous oysters, which was a delightful experience. Mia is a lovely person to spend the day with, and I cannot recommend her more highly. My only regret is not hiring her for the full day!
