From the moment we met her, we knew we were in great hands — she’s warm, incredibly knowledgeable, and so passionate about her hometown. She took us to a delicious oyster tasting, introduced us to her favorite olive oil shop (which we never would have found on our own), and made sure we caught the Pigeon Parade at noon — something we didn’t even know we needed to see, but absolutely loved! I’m a cat lover and had brought treats with me, and Barbara went out of her way to make sure we visited a few of Dubrovnik’s sun-loving feline residents. We had a private evening tour of Old Town Dubrovnik with Jelena and enjoyed it thoroughly. She is very knowledgeable about the centuries-long history of Dubrovnik and shared so much with us. Not just about Dubrovnik, but about the war in the 1990's, the communist period and its long history as a leader in world trade and culture. We learned about her own experience as a child growing up in Dubrovnik during the 1960's and were fascinated by her insights. Wow! She is such an amazing person and a really great tour guide. I would recommend her to any one traveling to Dubrovnik and especially recommend a personal tour. We asked lots of questions and she had the answers. She was very attentive to our own needs. We booked a 2 hour tour with Barbara. Comms were great and we met on time. Barbara walked us in to the old town and gave us a good understanding of how the city evolved over the years including souring the 90’s that was really interesting. We had our 18 and 21 year old daughters with us and she managed to keep their attention by making the tour very much about the people. I’m sure she had lots of GOT’s stuff but as we have never watched it we were spared. A great way to get to know your surroundings and get some great recommendations of where to eat. A great tour

Mia was brilliant and put us at ease with her knowledge and obvious passion for Dubrovnik. We spent the first 45 mins talking through the wonderful history of Dubrovnik and then we visited a couple of different venues to try a variety of locally produced wines. Must admit, I hadn’t realised that Croatia produced so many wines and the ones we tried were all amazing. We even tried an orange wine…we enjoyed talking to Mia about our backgrounds and the 3 hours went by in a flash, which is credit to Mia for making us feel comfortable. Mia also gave us a few tips about other parts of Dubrovnik to visit, which we certainly took advantage of during the rest of our stay. Karmen was a truly fabulous guide for our family of 4, my husband and me, and a daughter aged 19 and son age 15. As we know, with the ubiquity of smartphones in teenager's lives, their attention span is short. Karmen managed to keep their interest the whole time. She is a native to Dubrovnik and knows both the historical and the more recent history of the area equally well. She even threw in some fun Game of Thrones sites, complete with stills from the show to compare with the actual area in real life. She made things relevant but kept it fun. This was such a great thing to do on our first day in Dubrovnik. Barbara was so personable, kind and full of the most useful and interesting stories about the city. We learned about its history, its people, its day to day life, festivals, best spots and things to do, idiosyncrasies and the hidden things that guide books or larger tours just wouldn't tell you. Barbara kept us oldies plus our 13 year old and 18 year old fully engaged (and even squeezed in an ice cream stop to keep energy levels up!). We had the most incredible day exploring Dubrovnik with Marko as our tour guide! From start to finish, he was friendly, knowledgeable, and so much fun to be around.
