This was such a great thing to do on our first day in Dubrovnik. Barbara was so personable, kind and full of the most useful and interesting stories about the city. We learned about its history, its people, its day to day life, festivals, best spots and things to do, idiosyncrasies and the hidden things that guide books or larger tours just wouldn't tell you. Barbara kept us oldies plus our 13 year old and 18 year old fully engaged (and even squeezed in an ice cream stop to keep energy levels up!). Her stories of her childhood and family life in Croatiia really brought things to life. Her stories and the memorial to the Balkan crisis and siege of Dubrovnik was truly moving. We booked this for our first night in Dubrovnik to help familiarize ourselves with Old Town more quickly. Ramona was punctual and knowledgeable. She took us to three different places where we tried local bites and drinks. Over our next days in the city we revisted one of the restaurants and relied on much of the info she shared with us. We had the most incredible day exploring Dubrovnik with Marko as our tour guide! From start to finish, he was friendly, knowledgeable, and so much fun to be around. We started our day walking the iconic city walls, and Marko brought the history of Dubrovnik and Croatia to life, answering our many many questions with enthusiasm. And gave the Game of Thrones fans among us some info too! After the city, we headed out to Lokrum Island for a really fun lunch at nice restaurant where we accidently fed the wild peacocks some lunch and then had fabulous kayaking tour with Marko showing us beautiful coastal caves and getting to do some cliff jumping. From the moment we met her, we knew we were in great hands — she’s warm, incredibly knowledgeable, and so passionate about her hometown. Barbara brought the history of Dubrovnik to life with stories that were both fascinating and deeply personal. You could tell she truly loves this city and takes pride in sharing it with others. She took us to a delicious oyster tasting, introduced us to her favorite olive oil shop (which we never would have found on our own), and made sure we caught the Pigeon Parade at noon — something we didn’t even know we needed to see, but absolutely loved! Excellent introductory tour to the beautiful Old City of Dubrovnik. Interesting references to the War of the 1990’s from someone who remembers it well and can explain his own feelings and experiences. The Old City is very busy, even in early June, so I would recommend an early morning visit if possible, definitely if you’re doing the City Wall walk. Fascinating, enjoyable tour.

“The wine tasting and street food tour is a great experience, not just for the excellent wine and cheese to start, but also for the opportunity to sit and chat with a local, being able to ask any questions. The evening was fun, we learned quite a bit about Dubrovnik itself and its development of the tourist industry in the last few years. It wasn't just a dry lecture, it was a fun conversation where Romana was very open about different cultural aspects, giving advice on how to further plan the holiday and just general smalltalk. While the main streets are quite busy in the evening, the wine bar and the street food shop werent too crowded and still allowed for a decent conversation without having to shout to get over the noise.
