The route and stops are cool, with good places to visit and food that was at least interesting, if not always to my taste. The value was challenging tho with three of us sharing some quite tiny plates of food. The guide - Hundred - was a very strange man. Mildly offensive at times with his 'jokes', not fit enough to walk the route, keen to tout random trinket stores on the way, and he managed to allow the group - there were three of us - to get split up on the train system, which I reckon is a easy fail for guiding. I'll certainly never forget the tour tho! Good tour, get a different guide.The guide was like a weird uncle

We began this experience by using WhatsApp to correspond with Arthur and tailor a tour based on exactly what we wanted to see during our short time in Singapore. He was incredibly accommodating and open to all suggestions! We ended up doing the Chinatown Hawker Stalls (Arthur being lovely enough to take us to one of the Michelin stalls (as requested) in addition to a few others) in addition to Garden by the Bay, Marina Sands, and the Merlion. Arthur was conscious of the weather and impending rain when he took us to the places requested; he attempted to keep us out of the rain and heat which was nice! He even took pictures of us throughout the tour as well and sent some via WhatsApp after! Finally, he provided some history and facts sprinkled in and was lovely throughout! I would highly recommend scheduling a tour with him!!! He made our experience in Singapore a memorable one!Amazing tour with Arthur!

The first thing Arthur did was ask us about what we were planning on our visit so that he would not overlap with the food tour we had planned. The Dim Sum lunch he orchestrated at Gardens by the Bay was outstanding. We then toured Marina Bay Sands and he knew all the tricks to see the best and avoid the crowds. We went on the "10 Tastings of Singapore" food tour with Arthur in February 2025. From the moment we booked it, we were impressed with Arthur. Within minutes we received messages from him with details about the tour and explaining that to get the best out of the experience, it might take longer than the stated 3 hours. We also received information about places to go, ways to get around Singapore and other really useful information. The tour included Arab Street, Little India and Chinatown and not only included lots of very lovely food, but also lessons on using the buses and the MRT and loads and loads of history. Arthur picked us up from our hotel lobby and left us at the end of the tour about 5 hours later, tired, much more knowledgable about this wonderful city, and very full! Arthur is a wonderfully affable host, with an infectious humour and a passionate Singaporean. Very courteous, engaging and generous with his knowledge and time. We had a wonderful afternoon learning about both the food and the culture of Singapore, both past and present. I have to say though that we were a little disappointed that despite asking for (and being promised) a more personalised experience to accomodate my husband who is coeliac, we didn’t quite get that and there was quite a lot that he couldn’t eat. I wouldn’t take that away from the overall experience as we still had a great time but was just a little disappointing as it felt like we’d stuck to his usual routine and didn’t get the substitutes promised. The only other thing, which is a positive for some people, but we were a bit time constrained and despite asking Arthur when booking and also reminding him on the day that we only had 3 hours, it did take quite a long time, not so much from the eating but from Arthur’s rich storytelling which can get quite drawn out. So our tour still took 4.5 hours, great for some but we’d have preferred a bit of a quicker pace. So go for it, Arthur is wonderful, but perhaps with caution if you have legitimate food allergies or are time bound.

I selected Jon for two things. One, he had a car (I was with a companion that I wanted to be a bit more comfortable during the tour). Second, I read in the reviews that his English was good. Imagine my surprise when I started coordinating with who I thought was Jon, and in the messages when trying to figure out where to meet we were already having difficulty understanding each other. Then, when we finally saw him, he did not look at all like the picture in the website, and it turns out Jon was not available because he was not feeling well. This also means we did not have access to a car during the tour. This should have been communicated with us so that we had a chance to decide if we wanted to continue with the tour or not - why ask us to select a guide when we end up with someone else? Ben ended up being a good guide, and very accommodating, but honestly sometims we have trouble understanding him when he speaks English fast, and also we were not entirely interested in the religious slant (and we spent a CONSIDERABLE amount of time in a Hindu temple). We wanted to learn more about the food and hawker history and of course, was looking for a bit of comfort as we already spent the whole day walking as we left our country at 2am same day and were exhausted. Again, I do not blame Ben, but we should have been informed beforehand and given the choice to cancel. Next Time Set Expectations
