I had a great tour with Laos in Mexico City. He customized the experience based on my interests, and since it was a religious day, most museums were closed — but he made the most of it by focusing on churches, landmarks, and, of course, tacos. His background in art really came through, and he was incredibly patient and knowledgeable throughout. I had asked to include some food stops, and he definitely delivered — taking me to a few local spots I never would’ve found on my own. Felt more like exploring the city with a friend than a guide. Our group of 6 friends was lucky to book Victor in two different tours. The first day we explored Mexico’s historic center and the second day we went to Coyoacán. Victor is very knowledgeable of Mexico’s history and made our experience highly educational, interesting and fun. It is evident that he knows and loves his city. Al was punctual, very knowledgeable and gave us good tips about the museums and places we passed by but due to the time limitations couldn’t visit inside. This was our first time using Withlocals and we went into it with high hopes...the experience far exceeded our expectations! Our family of four (including an 18-year old and a 12-year old) can be a tough crowd at times. We have very different interests and the idea of trudging around for nearly 3 hours can be daunting. I was half-expecting somebody in the family would be miserable and want to pull the plug early, but that's not what happened at all. From the moment we met Victor, he had all of us fully engaged. He's such a nice and personable guy, you can't help but like him. He is so incredibly knowledgeable. In addition to a the very detailed and standard tour stuff, he was able to answer all of the random questions we through his way. And the moment he happened to bring up anime, he had our kids eating out of the palm of his hand. Our kids don't typically get excited about museums, history, dates, etc. But Victor's approach was so interesting and entertaining, he kept them engaged the entire time...listening intently and asking questions. It was such a joy for us as parents to see them taking it all in and enjoying the experience. They got so much out of it, we all got so much out of it! I don't think we could get the same benefit any other way. The only downside was having to say goodbye to Victor again. Obviously, I can't recommend Victor and this tour strongly enough. Our experience with the Whitlocal platform was easy enough and we will definitely look to use it again every time we travel.Great experience & Victor is phenomenal!!!

Our tour was automatically reassigned to Laos a couple days beforehand. The tour was nice and he had a deep appreciation for the art and architecture around the Historic Center. Unfortunately, the museum we were supposed to visit was not open and we were not provided the local snack or drink that was supposed to be included in the package. Laos can give you a deep look into the history and hidden murals around town, which was very interesting! He was on time for the tour and helped us better understand the city. Thanks Laos! The first thing we learned about Al is that he's incredibly patient—we messed up the bus system and then our cab got stuck in horrible traffic. We had our two kids along, and he hit a great balance of interesting spots and topics for us and for them. It would have been a real shame to miss this experience. We got a local's background on nuanced history, architecture, and politics. He followed our lead in terms of next choices, and even answered a couple questions for us after the tour.
