This was our first time booking withlocals! I went with my intuition and booked with Anukool and I'm so happy I did. I saw that he had a love a history and so does my Husband. What I didn't know was that he also has a fashion degree which comes with its own history and is perfect for Paris! He was able to keep the attention of my Husband and my three teen girls. He even went out of his way to help us navigate the Paris Metro system, helping us buy our tickets to Versailles and Disney Paris. He suggested buying our return tickets at the same time so we didn't wait in a line when returning. Anakool has so much to offer with his world traveling, fashion background and his love of history. In just a few minutes Welly assessed what we wanted from our tour. We are a couple interested in history and architecture and his guide and explanations were perfect for us. Without giving too much away he included several locations which we would never have dreamed of visiting and which blew us away. Any question we asked he was able to answer. He also gave recommendations on where else to prioritise visits in the additional 2 days we had in Paris and also provide some recommendations on places to eat. It poured rain the entire 3 hour tour but Welly did a fantastic job. He showed us beautiful areas that had covered malls to pass through, beautiful views from a dept store, some lesser known churches on our route, the extraordinary national library. She took us around St Germain des Pres where we learned about the area and the noteworthy places there. This trip was a gift for our daughter from family and friends to celebrate her confirmation. Of course, I planned the main sightseeing activities, but many museums are not interesting for teenagers. It was my first trip with my daughter without my husband and our son, just the two of us. Hence, I wanted to organize something special. I found the Withlocals portal quite interesting. I chose a local guide and arranged a 3-hour Paris tour. On the way to Paris, I received a message from our local guide that she was sick. It was just a couple of hours before our planned appointment. Of course, I understand that if someone is sick, you can't change it. But at that moment, I was really upset as I had planned this day for my daughter and myself around this tour with a local guide. Then, I received information that our tour was transferred to Welly. Welly immediately got in touch with me and discussed all the details. It was great! The tour with Welly was very interesting and exciting! He told us a lot of historical details but also shared insights about local Parisian life and culture. The tour was absolutely perfect! My daughter, 14 years old, said that this tour was the best experience for her in Paris. We also got a couple of useful tips from Welly about food, restaurants, and sightseeing. The next evening, we had a very beautiful dinner on Rue Sainte-Anne, a street with many Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Korean restaurants. We were supposed to do the tour with another guide who had to cancel and we had to go with Rachelle, and we are so glad we did! We had such a fun afternoon with Giedre Izabele. I booked the Paris City Tour to surprise my boyfriend for his birthday and it was a great success.
