We had a fantastic tour with our guide Maja in Split, who did an excellent job combining history with Game of Thrones locations. We specifically asked to see filming spots from the show, and our guide came prepared with a binder full of photos from the series and behind-the-scenes shots. This made it easy to compare the real locations with the scenes filmed in and around Diocletian's Palace. The tour was very detailed—we explored the ancient Roman palace while learning about its real history, as well as discovering key GoT sites, like Daenerys' dragon chambers. The mix of factual history and fun behind-the-scenes stories made the experience incredibly engaging. Highly recommend this tour to both Game of Thrones fans and history lovers! Our guide was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and made the whole experience unforgettable. At the end of the tour Maja even helped us pick out a very good restaurant. We couldn't have asked for more. Our walk was planned around seeing a different view of the city, not just the tourist attractions . We really enjoyed exploration of old residential areas with exceptional city views and their history. Food and restaurants off the usual promenade and harbour. Joško was great! His stories and wide knowledge really helped us see how Split changed through the ages and especially how the Diocletian Palace and the Old Town came to be! We learned so much more than we would have done just looking around by ourselves or with guidebooks (which only tell half the story at most) and he even managed to keep a thirteen year old and an eighteen year old engaged for over two hours. We were on our final day of a 12-day cruise, and Maja provided us a lovely finish to our trip. She walked us through the Palace and explained so many things. She took great pictures of us, so that we would have wonderful memories of the day. Our tour included a treat and we asked if perhaps we could find a place for a local beer instead of ice cream - and she found a wonderful place tucked into a quiet, little square. I contacted Dubravka to help arrange a customized tour of split for my group of 6. She was easy to work with and helped plan the day for us. She was able to arrange for a private van which was very clean which carted us off to our wonderful day of the sites of split. Dubravka was funny, organized, professional, and even treated us to some of her favorite treats on our excursion. Her knowledge and her connections with sites helped us and made the day wonderful. I would highly recommend Dubravka. And to top off our wonderful day, one of our group members left his hat in the van. Darko was very welcoming to our small group of 6. He always only books small groups. He had a lot of historical info for us and toured us throughout the old town of Split. We were brought to venues that specialized in local delicacies as we weaved our way through the city. Most off the beaten track. He even shared recipes of some of the foods we loved!
