It all started with his very quick response to my request for a day in KL. I made a list of places we wanted to visit. The communication was great! He made me an offer I couldn't refuse. He picked us up at our hotel, discussed the day with us and brought us to all the places on our wish list and even more! We are a group of 8 people and engaged Peter Lau to be our guide for a tour from Feb 26 to Mar 1 started from Singapore and ended up in Penang. Everything was fine until after we crossed the border from Singapore to Malaysia. Peter and his driver changed the van which was really dilapidated: the inside side panels came off, the ceiling for the van was molded with black spots, and there were cigarette holes in the back panels of the seats. When we complained to Peter and asked him to change the vehicle, he said that he could not do it and that he had forewarned us about the condition of the vehicle. That of course was not true and I actually reminded him several times by whatsApp to make sure the vehicle was nice and clean and relatively new. What really shocked me was after the argument and on the way to our hotel, he and his partner told us that they would not want to take our trip and asked us to find another tour guide. This was so unprofessional and irresponsible. Instead of trying to help to resolve the situation, they just wanted to drop us off on the street and practically said "if you don't like it then just leave". This is so shocking. We are kind of meat on the chopping board, so we tried our best to hold our pride and basically we went along with this crummy vehicle for the rest of our trip. Fortunately, there was no other incidents during the trip but it definitely left a very bad taste in our mouth and kind of ruin our trip.Not too pleasant experience

Peter was easy to deal with with while making arrangements through the app. He arrived on time with a clean car and supplied me with a bottle of water. We stopped for breakfast on the way, as the trip to the highlands is several hours. He gave a brief history of the area, we stopped for a waterfall, met some indigenous peoples who taught me how to use a blow gun with darts. Once in the highlands we visited the BOH tea plantation and a strawberry farm to pick strawberries. He can also arrange souvenir shopping which I did not want. Peter was fantastic! We flew in for one day and he picked us up from the airport. Loved the drive to see villages in Malaysia! We started at the Elephant Sanctuary which blew away our teens! We got to feed and wash the elephants.... an awesome experience!!! The AC in the car was a great reprieve from the heat. We then went to the Batu Cave which was impressive and tiring LOL. Peter was great with taking photos and guiding us! We then went to a local hot spring which was super interesting. Loved being within the locals! Last stop was Twin Towers which, of course, magnificent. Took some cool photos. Throughout the day, we did quick stops for local food and which we enjoyed. Before returning us to the airport, we stopped for the best Sate ever - he knows the right places to go! It was great because not only did we love his company but so did our teens! We all found Peter interesting, funny and full of Malaysian knowledge! We talked to people who were in Kuala Lumpur for 3 days and we did more than them. I booked Peter for two days around Kuala Lumpur. I gave him some ideas of things I wanted to see, and he filled in the gaps and created an itinerary. It was a busy two days, but so much fun! Peter is knowledgeable about the history of Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia, and he loves to share that! He is very outgoing - everywhere we went he was chatting with people and I just assumed he knew them all. No, it turned out he just met them but he is so outgoing and has such a warm personality that he was instantly like an old friend. Quick with a laugh and a joke, he was equally comfortable just driving along in silence while I answered emails and did some work. Peter was efficient, keeping us (me) on schedule without being bossy. He was firm and good with timelines (“meet me back here in 20 minutes”) that made it possible to see so many things. Peter was great! :) He picked up us from the hotel and we planned out a day to see all the key attractions. We managed to drive around to so many places and see everything we wanted, even with a few last minute requests. His vehicle was comfy, and felt very safe driving around. At many of the sights he gave us a short walking tour and explained the history. He even waited for us as we did a tour of the Islamic Arts museum. Definitely would recommend to anyone keen to see the sights with a short period of time!

Peter is a very nice and kind man who loves his job. He is very enthousiastic and tells a lot about Kuala Lumpur and the history of the city. He showed us lots of beautiful places in Kuala Lumpur. Peter is a hell of a guide, a hell of a driver and most of all, a fantastic, most kind and professional human being, always ready for that extra mile. During our day trip from Singapore to KL we lost a lot of time at the airport immigration and some traffic jams so that our initial plans needed to be changed. Thanks to Peter's flexibility (he always has a plan B up his sleeve), we still managed to do all the important things we had planned before heading back to the airport in time. We had a really nice day driving around KL with Peter! After making a personalised itinerary with him, he took us to Batu Caves, Templer Park, a nice Buddhist Temple and around the central market area. He told us some really interesting facts about the city and the sights and it was great to have someone to ask questions! Mein Mann und ich hatten 14 Stunden Stopover in Kuala Lumpur und entschlossen uns, bei dieser Gelegenheit so viel wie möglich von der Stadt zu sehen. Peter bot uns eine englischsprachige Tour an, bei der wir voll auf unsere Kosten kommen könnten. Ich wünschte mir vor allem Batu Caves und die Petronas Towers. Die Abholung am Flughafen erfolgte sehr angenehm, da bei der (leider verspäteten) Landung bereits eine Nachricht auf dem Smartphone auf mich wartete. Peter empfing uns mit einem Schild in der Hand und geleitete uns zu seiner komfortablen Limousine. Während der sehr angenehmen Fahrt zu den Batu Caves führte er uns in die Geschichte der Stadt und des Landes ein. Rückfragen beantwortete er mit großem Fachwissen. Er fuhr direkt vor die Stufen des Tempels und ließ uns erst allein, als er sicher war, wir würden unseren Weg finden. Die Caves waren wie erwartet grandios. Am Fuße wartete Peter auf uns. Er versorgte uns wie den ganzen Tag mit frischem Mineralwasser und führte die Stadttour fort. Wir sahen die britischen Kolonialbauten, den Hauptplatz, das Nationalmuseum, die zentrale Moschee, den Palast, das Kriegsmonument mit Aussicht sowie einen völlig unerwarteten neueren Tempel, der 3 Religionen auf sich vereint. Zwischendurch setzte er uns in einem traditionellen Einkaufszentrum ab, wo wir auf eigene Faust im Food Court essen konnten. Danach ging es in die China Town. Der zweite Höhepunkt nach den Batu Caves waren die Petronas Towers. Peter fuhr uns direkt in die Parkgarage der Anlage und machte außerhalb viele Bilder von uns. Er verhandelte mit dem Guide, da wir zu müde waren, um auf unsere angegebene Zeit auf der Eintrittskarte zu warten. Dann wartete er unten, während wir die umfassende Tour in den Zwillingstürmen machten. Anschließend wäre Peter gerne noch mit uns in einen Nachtmarkt gegangen, aber wir waren einfach zu müde. Er brachte uns zum Flughafen zurück, von wo wir nach Australien weiterflogen. Besser hätten wir die Zeit nicht nutzen können. Vielen Dank Peter! Peter met us at the dock right where we needed. He was very trustworthy, friendly, didn't rush us at all and took us where we wanted to go from his suggestions. Even gave us a history lesson. We had quite a short stop-over (total of 6.5 hours from landing to next flight departure) and Peter helped us make the absolute most of it. He met us at the airport and had already checked to see that the traffic was okay. We managed to see several of the main sites of KL and Peter took great pictures at all of them. Certainly, we saw enough to be keen to do a longer stop over next time. Peter was top notch and a true local guide on our cruise stop over. He was flexible and understood our wishes and interest and adjusted our time together accordingly. We were very much interested in sampling local cuisine and he did not disappoint in between the major sites. A group of six of us came to Singapore then on to Malaysia for the MotoGP. We only had a week and knew we couldn’t do everything so decided we’d like a guide. We were impressed from the start as Peter put us an itinerary together that gave us the best combination from the ones available to suit our budget and available time. Peter stayed in communication with us up to our visit so we knew he was available for any question we had. He was punctual on our day, taking us to various landmarks and giving us great insights into them and the history around them. The very heavy rain later in our tour meant we had to leave the last stop which had an outdoor element to it, but Perter still ensured we received constant information as we zig-zagged through the gridlocked traffic of Kuala Lumpur. A real mark of how much of a gentleman Peter is was when one of our party found out later they had left their coat on his (very clean) vehicle. Peter saw no problem in bringing the item back to our hotel the following day even though I’m sure it was an inconvenience. Peter is great company and, should we have the pleasure of returning to KL, will have no hesitation in hiring Peter again. Thanks Peter, see you soon!Our great day with Peter in Kuala Lumpur!

We had a half day cruise stop over in Kuala Lumpur at the end of September. We made the Withlocals booking online, prior to our cruise departure. Peter Lau made immediate phone contact with us to confirm our booking and tour details. He promised to collect us from Port Klang at 7am and return us to our ship by 1pm. On the day, we were a bit delayed leaving our cruise ship, due to customs. Peter was waiting in the foyer for us, with a big sign and even bigger smile.
