Off The Beaten Track Tours in Cairo

We (my husband and myself)had a fabulous day exploring the pyramids of the Giza Plateau, Saqqara and Dahshur with Ramses and his driver John. Ramses is a total professional, really knowledgeable and a good communicator with excellent English and a great sense of humour. We really loved the way he opened our eyes to small details we might have overlooked if exploring by ourselves. His passion for archaeology and Egyptian history shines through. John is a really good and safe driver. Unlike other drivers on the roads of Cairo the mad driver gene seems to passed him by. He kindly provided each of us with a welcome bottle of water. We spent 3 wonderful days with Ramses. His knowledge is exceptional and he managed to keep our teenager daughter engaged (not an easy task). We had no set plans and let Ramses take the lead on our Cairo adventure through Coptic and Islamic Cairo, the Giza plateau and Saqqara. His local knowledge meant he could also find the quiet spots to enhance our experience. Despite hundreds of visitors at the pyramids he found places where we were almost the only people, including tombs not on the popular tourist agenda. It felt very special. He gave us great advice on The Egyptian museum in Cairo to see the King Tut exhibition as we hadn’t realised it was not yet at GEM. He made us feel like friends and we had fascinating conversations about ancient and modern Egypt. I can thoroughly recommend Ramses for your Cairo adventure and we will definitely be back.

First i'd like to tell Ramses how much our group appreciated his knowledge and eagerness to show us everything we wanted to see. We came as clients, and left as friends. For all those looking for a guide, you get that and much more with Ramses. His hidden little gems at each location he wants to show you, and the tiny little details he points out that have major impacts to the story and history of the time are incredible. You truly get an Egyptologist with Ramses. Not only do you get his depth of information, you also get someone who is funny, kind and genuinely wants you to learn. One last thing, when he says "give me your phone" do it. He's got mad picture taking skills!! You can not go go wrong with this guy, trust me. He truly is Ramses XII, The Living Pharaoh !!
