London is beautiful

Luciana's passion for London and beauty make this a fantastic tour. She provides the historical context (of which there is a lot), but also the beautiful gardens, excellent food, and quiet streets creating an incredible three hours!

Sorcha went above and beyond

Sorcha delivered a family friendly tour that engaged and entertained both us and our 9 and 11 year old sons! We love history and Sorcha delivered even the more gruesome and sensitive of London’s varied history in an age appropriate and informative way. She also scheduled in excellent breaks for snacks that ensured my jet lagged boys didn’t get (too) whiney on the ~5 miles we ended up covering. Sorcha’s knowledge of the landmarks, hidden gems, and the stories behind them, as well as her helpful tips for after the tour ensured a wonderful first day in the city!

A Not So Foggy Day in London-Town

Ok so maybe the day did start a little dreary, but that was quickly replaced by our time with Maria. From a delicious start at a local tea vendor, through fresh oysters and scallops to a decadent mushroom risotto Maria kept us well fed and informed about local history and historic places. She is super friendly and we felt like we were exploring London through food with a friend - which we feel she became by the end. Over a pint to finish off the tour of course. And by then the sun was, of course, shining! We highly recommend a day with her!

Great tour by an knowledgable guide!

I loved this tour. I learned so much from Leonardo as he is an expert at British History. I loved how he intertwined the food tastings with seeing sights around and learning. I highly recommend.

Things to do in London

London is thriving with art and culture, it’s full of gothic history and booming with cool bistros, boutiques, and bars. There are so many exciting things to see and do, you'll barely have time to breathe, but that’s the beauty of this wonderful city. • Walk Along The River Thames

You can’t visit London without taking a relaxing walk along The River Thames. Your host will be thrilled to take you on a stroll along the famous river. On your journey, you’ll enjoy views of the impressive skyscrapers, and the many distinct bridges that connect the south and north of the city.

If your legs get tired, that's OK, you can jump on the tube, any public bus, a boat or even a bike and continue your exploring. There are many cafes and bistros along the way for you to stop and take in the beautiful scenery. Your local host will have their favorite place for a coffee and some cake, and will gladly take you there. This is a very tranquil way to spend your day in London, and most definitely one of the top things to do in this city.

  • A Royal Experience

Immerse yourself in London’s Royal heritage. Making your way through the beautiful St James’ Park is the perfect way to start your Royal exploration. And is a must-do when you’re visiting London, after all it’s our Royal family that make us so well known. Your host will tell you all about the city's Royal history.

Remember, if the flag is flying, The Queen is home. And if you’re lucky, you might even catch the iconic Changing of the Guard Ceremony. It takes place every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, between 10:15am and 11:45am.

It’s an iconic landmark that’s not to be missed, and your local guide will be more than happy to ride with you.

You’ll witness the skyline of London like no other. But if you want to go higher, ask your guide to take you to the observation deck of The Shard, the highest public viewing point in London! Up there, you’ll not only enjoy the stunning view, but delicious food and artisinal cocktails too. One of the best things to do in London!

  • Food, Food and More Food

Take in quirky art, amazing shop fronts, and plenty of delicious cuisine at Camden Markets. Located on Regent’s Canal, you’re in for a treat. Did you know Camden is made up of more than 1,000 unique stalls, bars, food vendors and cafes?

Or if you’re feeling daring, try something new.

  • A Different Kind of Art

Visit an art gallery like no other in Walthamstow at God’s Own Junkyard. It’s a wonderland of neon signs and vintage treasures, all in one place. You’ll be amazed to know it has the largest collection of signs in Europe. It’s a great place to simply wander around and enjoy the many bright lights.

When you’re done browsing, take a seat in the café and enjoy freshly ground coffee and a delicious menu of lunch-time favorites. The building also has a courtyard garden, which has been described as an ‘oasis of peace’, and better yet, it’s all free. • London’s Hidden Treasures

Covent Garden is well known as a high-fashion district and is home to famous designer brands and mix of delicious restaurants too, including London’s oldest restaurant! Convent Garden itself is one of the top things to do in London, however, there is so much more than meets the eye here, as it’s home to some of the city’s best kept secrets.

Your host will show you around the hidden parts of this area: taking you to the underground comedy clubs, unique theatres, places to witness the best street performers in the city, and not to mention the most colorful secret corner in London. With a local guide by your side, you’ll be amazed at these fabulous sights.

  • Come Dine With Me

The best thing about visiting a new city is trying out all the delicious food. But instead of going to a restaurant, why not try a real home-cooked dish from a local? Your host will be honored to prepare, cook and serve you some proper British, hearty grub. Nothing beats a freshly prepared dinner, made from scratch by your host. They’ll pick their favorite dish, and you can enjoy it with their friends and family. Experiences don’t get much more local than this, and it’s a great way to connect with your private host and get to know each other. It’s a must-do when you’re visiting London.

  • So Cool Soho

Feeling a bit eccentric? If you want to get a tattoo, try authentic Japanese food, or have a night out to remember, then Soho is the place for you. A brilliant place to visit and top thing to do in London. Your private host will be happy to show you this multicultural area. It’s a residential place for all, and its diversity is what makes it one-of-a-kind.

By day you can browse old record shops for your favorite vinyls. And by night you can visit the theatre or dance the night away at a jazz club. It’s the perfect place to interact with locals and dive into London’s unconventional side. It’s unquestionably a place for the fun and adventurous types.

  • Dynamic Dalston

Then there’s Dalston, an east end hot spot with buzzing nightlife and a mix of creative types! In the borough of Hackney, this up and coming area is the best place for a great bite and some vintage shopping. Perfect if you want to add some classic and unique pieces of your wardrobe, or take some typical British attire home.

But let’s not forget that it’s also home to one of the best outdoor swimming pools: the London Fields’ Lido. Ideal for a relaxing day when the sun is shining. And if the weather is lovely, you can also experience a rooftop garden with a beer, or enjoy a classic movie at an independent picture house. What’s not to love? A top thing to do in London!

  • Cook Like a British Chef

And last but certainly not least…

When it comes to British food, a lot of people tend to think of Sunday roasts, fish and chips, and mash and gravy. Yes, this is true, but what’s even better than eating at a restaurant is cooking it yourself! Brits have a real love for hearty food, and you can master the art of British grub yourself. Join a culinary cooking class and learn how to cook like a local with a hands-on experience like this. Or ask your host about teaching you how to cook their favorite dish! Then you can take the recipe home, and impress your friends. It’s the best souvenir!
