Best Markets in London

London is booming with markets and is home to some of the best in the world, some of which most tourists haven’t even heard of. So if you’re ready to explore the best hidden gems, try exquisite food, and get a taste for a proper British marketplace, then here are our top 5 London markets!

  • Hippie Market at Brick Lane

From furniture to fruit, you’ll find all kinds of things at Brick Lane Market in London. Over the years, it’s become a trendy hotspot for all kinds of visitors, with a range of stalls and vibrant nightlife. But many of the locals still visit this flea market for its cheap goods and bargains. As you walk from one end to the another, you’ll notice awesome street art and graffiti!

The best thing is that Brick Lane is bordered by some of London’s best curry houses. If you’re feeling hungry after a hard day shopping, you can stop by a restaurant and fill your boots with delicious Indian cuisine.

  • Cool Camden Market

Your local host will tell you that this is certainly one of the most popular markets in London. This hippie market offers people a range of antiques and second-hand goods, weird and wonderful objects, and vintage clothing. It’s also the number-one destination for funky finds and original gifts to take back home to your family and friends.

When you leave the market you’ll find yourself facing The Stables, which is a well-known food market in Camden offering a varied cuisine. When you stroll through all the vendors you’ll be met by smells of Indian, Italian, American and Asian dishes. If your stomach wasn’t rumbling before, it will now!

  • Handcrafted Goods at Old Spitalfields

If you’re looking for handcrafted housewares, vintage clothing and edgy artwork then Old Spitalfields is the London Market you want to be visiting. Located in East London, this market is filled with boutique stalls selling all kinds of unique goods. It’s open seven days a week, with Saturday welcoming the biggest flock of visitors. If you go in summer or winter, you may be lucky enough to catch any of the opera, jazz, folk, and contemporary music performances.

  • Grab a Bite at Borough Market

A true foodie hotspot, this London market will not disappoint. Situated under London Bridge in an old warehouse, vendors and traders come here every day to share their delicious goods with visitors from across world. Did you know it’s one of London’s oldest food markets? It’s been serving the people of Southwark, and its guests, for more than 1,000 years; an extraordinary heritage.

As you weave your way through the meats and cheeses, cookies and cakes, beers and wines, you’ll taste everything on the menu. It’s the local’s favorite market from fresh, delicious produce, and is known as London’s ‘culinary hub’. It’s a crazy combination of colors, smells, and human engagement, so prepare to be delighted in the friendliest way.

  • The ultimate marketplace, Petticoat Lane

Believe it or not the French used to sell petticoats and lace at this market, which is where its famous name has come from. There’s something for everyone with more than 1,000 stalls and bargain cut-prices, mainly women’s fashion and leather. But that’s not all, you can also swim your way through piles of DVDs, books, children’s toys, stereos, records, and even electronic goods. The marketplace is open from 10am to 2.30pm, Monday through Friday, and 9am to 2pm on Sundays, so get there early!

Best tour in Bangkok

We absolutely loved our tour of hidden gems by Sudarat. She was just fantastic. Extremely accommodating and kind as we had one person with a bad knee. Sudarat took us to some really amazing places and shared so much history and told us the meaning of certain things in the Thai culture. It was exactly what we were looking for. We would book again with Sudarat as this was our favorite tour on our trip.

Unforgettable and unique

Dear Saravarint What a great tour, what an experience. In our last few hours in Bangkok, you gave us another great and unforgettable insight into a special city and a great country. From the food court to the flower market, through the narrowest and most hidden alleyways to the hard-to-find gems of the city. You broadened our horizons with your knowledge. Unfortunately, the time went by far too quickly, the booked 3 hours became 4 without a wink. We would have liked to have listened to you for a long time if our imminent departure hadn't brought the trip to an abrupt end. And so there was suddenly no time to say goodbye in peace and thank you. You made our visit to Bangkok unforgettable. KOP KHUN KRAP!!! It was unique. Best regards, Juerg & Karin
