An Intriguing Historical City

Explore new things the local way in London in 24 hours! From starting with breakfast in a market and finishing with drinks in a trendy gin bar, there are plenty of incredible things to do in London in a day! Below you can explore some unique recommendations for what to do in London in a day to tick off your bucket list. Morning: Breakfast and the markets Discover a city that was built on the merchant trading markets along the Thames over a scrumptious full English breakfast, then head to the markets to see how little has changed. There are loads of squares with smaller specialist stalls, and huge areas where markets are still the way of life. Explore the foodie haven of Borough, or the mishmash of alternative London in Camden where you’ll soon find weird and wonderful is the new normal. Afternoon: Lunch and a bike ride Pick up a “Boris Bike” from one of the easy rentals stands to explore the leafy neighborhoods. London is surprisingly small, and you’ll easily take in much of the city in an afternoon, or take to the streets on foot. Have a picnic lunch in Hyde Park, visit Poet’s Corner and follow the footprints of Royalty or popular film stars through trendy South London. Evening: Dinner and live comedy or a show Take your pick of Michelin star restaurants or enjoy fine-dining by local chefs like Gordon Ramsay or Jamie Oliver. After dinner, it’s time to explore the creative streets around Leicester Square and Shaftsbury Avenue for the perfect live comedy, musical or theatre show. You may like to have a drink at a trendy gin bar, or head to a cozy pub for a few beers after.

Time Jumping Through London

Chris managed to put together such a warm and friendly atmosphere from the moment we met him until we were planning our trip in the spring and exchanging contact information with Chris at the end of our day. We truly felt a connection with Chris. He is funny, warm, friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. He managed to take two completely different personalities with completely different interests and knowledge bases and reconcile them and intricately unveil them, with each step through the London streets, into a phenomenal experience. My husband and I stayed plugged in the entire day. I am so glad I stumbled upon Chris and fate worked in our favor because we had a wonderful day. We all walked away more knowledgeable about different things and with newly sparked interests and stories to tell. One of the best tour experiences both my husband and myself have ever had and we have years of travel throughout the world especially Europe to compare this tour. Thank you, Chris! Until next time….

Highlight of our visit

Our family of four (with two teenagers - 19 and 14) spent three unforgettable hours with Tom during our first visit to London. Tom is an incredible storyteller and allows you to get to know London in an engaging and relatable way. He introduced us to key landmarks like Tower Bridge, House of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and Big Ben, and helped us orient ourselves on our first day in the city, so we could go back to some of his recommended spots. He also suggested a great pub circa 1663 near the area we stayed in and it was fantastic! Great food and ambience. Tom’s comment about London truly stuck with us - “London might not be the most beautiful city, but it’s definitely the most honest - as it’s not afraid to show the good, the bad and the ugly.” That really resonated - it’s truly such an eclectic city full of contrasts. Thank you Tom for helping make our first trip here so memorable! If you’re considering booking a tour with Tom - just do it and you’ll be glad you did!
