The Tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Paris, France. The tomb is located in the Hôtel des Invalides, a complex of buildings containing a hospital and a retirement home for war veterans. The tomb contains the remains of Napoleon Bonaparte, who was Emperor of France from 1804 to 1814, and his wife Joséphine de Beauharnais. Napoleon was exiled to the island of Elba after his defeat at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, but he escaped and returned to France. He was defeated again at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815 and was exiled to the island of Saint Helena, where he died in 1821.
We had a great tour! We enjoyed weaving through the city and learning about the history behind buildings and statues we otherwise would have just walked by. Lucien was also funny and engaging, we liked his little personal stories as much as we liked Napoleon’s!
Carlos has comprehensive knowledge of the Opera house and its hidden secrets. The building is one of the most beautiful in the world and Carlos was able to give us context and meaning. Fun and insightful. 10/10.
I would definitely recommend Lucien as a guide in Paris, as he is a charming parisien, who will let you know the most interesting details about the city, and its history. Also, Lucien will show famous places, as well as hidden sites that only locals would now. Not to mention individual approach that Lucien offers, as he had considered our wishes. We had a wonderful time, as we also had pleasant conversations. Next time we are in Paris we will definitely have a tour with Lucien again.
We did the opera tour with Carlos and his deep knowledge of the Opera Garnier was evident. It elevated our experience at the historical landmark. Our tour then proceeded to other locations that are linked to the history of Opera and music in Paris. The day we went for the tour turned out to be rainy and cold yet however Mr Carlos made us feel very warm. He was very graceful, patient and open to questions. We look forward to witnessing him perform shortly and would highly recommend this tour.
