Day Trips From in Hong Kong

Wing Wing was very knowledgeable about Tai-O, having been there as a child and adult. She knew some of the locals, and where to get yummy treats. She was very personable and fun to share a half day with. I usually don’t do reviews, but she earned one. Thank you!

Wing Wing was our fantastic guide for a few hours to visit Tai O fishing village on the far western tip of Lantau Island in Hong Kong. She met us right on time at Tung Chung MTR station. There was some kind of important festival that day, so the line-up for the bus to Tai O was crazily long so Wing Wing quickly knew how to get there a different way via 2 buses. Not only was seeing Tai O fascinating (you feel like you're in a traditional village from some bygone era a million miles away from frenetic Hong Kong), Wing Wing made it a bit of food tour as well. We sampled many traditional dishes which were exotic, deelish and the kinds of things we wouldn't have been brave enough to try on our own. Her English is exceptional and she gives you great insights to life today in Hong Kong. Thanks for a great day, Wing Wing!

Wing Wing is a nice guide and were very friendly from the beginning on. She has created a very nice tour and knows a lot of residents of tai o. So it is very easy to hear some traditional stories and have contact to the People. We tried a lot of Things like grilled dired squid or the best hong kong waffels I ever had...made on a coal bbq. She always took the time to describe everything to us...especially on the dry market. This tour is especially good if you want to see some traditional sides of Hong Kong. Also she knows the times to be there before the tourists come. We were almost alone at the beginning and had a really great look over a piece of nice nature in the middle of hong kong.
