About local
Wonderful experience !

After discovering Roopak and Nidhi's cookery course on WithLocals, I knew I had to try it out! Without further ado, I booked and we communicated via whatsapp. My anticipation grew! Roopak explained to me in detail where and how I could meet them at their apartment complex, going easiest way via UBER. I received a very warm welcome at their very nice apartment and immediately felt at home. The menu was a great introduction to Indian culture. Not only that, but explanations about the culture, the people, religion and the environment were also very informative for me. Meanwhile, Nidhi showed me how to prepare the dishes in the kitchen, and I could do most of it by myself - for the learning effect. The food was fantastic! Roopak answered a lot of my questions and taught me some simple words. They are great hosts and have a lot of experience with foreigners, I highly recommend them! Should I visit Delhi again, a visit to them is definitely on my to-do list. Much love and Thank You ! Anita from Bavaria

An Intimate Culinary Journey

Our travel to India took an extraordinary turn when we had the opportunity to cook and dine with ROOPAK and Nidhi. This experience transformed our understanding of Indian culture, making it deeply personal and enriching. As we cooked together, the family shared stories about their daily life, intertwining each recipe with anecdotes and traditions. The kitchen was filled with laughter, spices, and an array of colors that made the whole experience feel like a celebration of life. Cooking an authentic Indian meal from scratch, from masala chai to biryani, was not just about the food; it was a window into the soul of India. The family’s pride in their heritage was contagious. They explained the significance of each dish, how food plays a role in festivals, and the nuances that vary from one state to another. This intimate setting allowed for an honest and open exchange, far removed from the typical tourist experience. This experience was about more than just a meal; it was about connection and understanding. It highlighted the warmth and hospitality of Indian culture, leaving me with a profound sense of gratitude and a much richer perspective on Delhi. For anyone seeking a deeper, more meaningful connection with India, an experience like this is invaluable.
