My tour of the Kalsa quarter with Salvatore was perfecto! I have been to Palermo many times and feel I am a bit more knowledgeable than the average tourist about the history of Palermo and Sicily. Yet this was my first time exploring Kalsa. You can tell Salvatore has a passion for his city and was very knowledgeable about the area we walked through. I was able to learn many new things about the history of the Kalsa and have a list of places to go back and explore on my own. I recommend this tour with Salvatore if you want to get away from the crush of the main Palermo sights and see a side that the locals experience, while learning how the city developed and expanded throughout the centuries.

Salvatore met us exactly on time at our easy-to-find rendezvous point. We learned a lot about the historical district and I know some of the things we saw would have been overlooked by us if we were on our own - or even if we were in a more traditional tour group.
