Chiara gave the three of us an informative and entertaining history lesson as we explored Florence together. Her English is excellent, that paired with her pleasant demeanor and friendly personality make her the ideal guide.
Walking around Florence with Maja was a dream. Her tour is customizable, highly informative, and all around good company. Highly recommend!
Three of us really enjoyed our time with Matteo. He took note of our preference to concentrate on lesser known/quieter streets & areas (as we’d visited the hot spots on previous trips). Breakfast venue was great as was market experience, enabling us to taste food as we went. His knowledge of art/history/architecture is extensive but he made everything accessible and fun and finished with great restaurant recommendations. Thanks, Matteo, for showing us a different side to Florence. Will definitely recommend you to friends.
This walking tour through Florence was absolutely unforgettable! “The History of Florence: Famous Medici Family & Pitti Palace Tour” was the perfect blend of rich history, beautiful architecture, and fascinating storytelling. We began at the iconic Odeon Theatre, a wonderful spot that set the tone for the tour with its old-world charm. From there, we explored the grand Pitti Palace, once home to the powerful Medici family, where we learned captivating stories about their influence over Florence and Europe. One of the unexpected highlights was a visit to the official Santa Maria Novella perfumery, a hidden gem full of centuries-old recipes and heavenly scents. Right nearby, the majestic Santa Maria Novella Church left us in awe with its frescoes and peaceful beauty. We were especially moved by the Medici tombs and museums, where history came alive through the stories of power, politics, and art. The tour also included time at the incredible Florence Cathedral (Duomo) — a true masterpiece of Renaissance architecture — and ended at the Museo di Palazzo Vecchio, the heart of Florence’s political history. Our local guide, Michele made all the difference — he was passionate, knowledgeable, and an incredible storyteller. Every stop felt like stepping into a time machine, guided by someone who genuinely loves and understands this city’s legacy. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to dive deep into Florence’s storied past while walking through its most iconic landmarks. An unforgettable cultural experience!
