A Vibrant City with a Colorful Past

Explore the best of Naples in 24 hours! From starting with a casual breakfast in a piazza and finishing with a sunset cruise, you’ll be keen to discover all the amazing things there are to do in Naples in a day! Below you can discover some fantastic ideas for what to do in Naples in a day to make the most of your journey. Morning: Breakfast and sightseeing Wake up to the perfect Italian coffee and wander through the beautiful piazzas in the fascinating Spanish Quarter. Naples has plenty of charming squares lined with quirky cafés and tiny streets. Explore the markets, wander through the art school, visit Duomo di San Gennaro cathedral or reimagine the lives of the blindfolded prisoners at Piazza del Plebiscito. Afternoon: Lunch and Pompeii or Herculaneum Enjoy an authentic UNESCO protected pizza in one of Naples oldest pizzerias before catching a short bus ride to Pompeii or Herculaneum, at the foot of Mount Vesuvius. Witness real-life history in the perfectly preserved towns that were unexpectedly frozen in time when Vesuvius erupted suddenly in 79 A.D, and see what people were doing when they were caught off guard by the toxic ash. Mount Vesuvius is still active, which only adds to the excitement of Naples. Evening: Street food and a stroll through the city After a reflective afternoon, head back to Naples to sample the delicious street food. The city really comes to life in the evenings, and the piazzas are filled with tasty treats and hidden gems. Try the deep fried Cuoppo served in a paper cone as you walk through the backstreet alleys and watch the sun go down across the bay at happy hour. For dinner, stop for fresh pasta with parmesan in a quaint restaurant, then soak up the good vibes of the city with a sweet treat or Limoncello.

Wonderful tour

Initially we were considering taking the tour with the audio guide- but finally decided to have a tour guide and I am so happy we did. We scheduled a private tour for a small group of five. The tour ended up being one of the high points of our trip to Italy. I would highly recommend booking a private tour for Pompeii. There is so much to learn and so much ground to cover in a trip. Carlos was awesome! We couldn’t be happier with the visit. You will learn so much more with a private tour than going on your own. Carlos made the tour interesting for all ages in our group. It is definitely worth the money to get this tour. Thanks Carlos for an awesome experience!

Great day in Amalfi and Pompeii

We had a great time with Gennaro. He is very knowledgeable about the region, and made recommendations that resulted in a perfect day. Gennaro is proud and passionate of his city Naples and the Amalfi region. I would highly recommend him as your personal guide if he is available for your visit, particularly if you live Italian food.
