The Campo de' Fiori is a rectangular square south of Piazza Navona in Rome, Italy. The open-air market at the center of the square is one of the oldest markets in Rome. The square is located near the ancient Roman Forum and was already a marketplace in the time of ancient Rome. It continues to be a popular marketplace, selling fruit, vegetables, flowers, fish, meat, and more. On the south side of the square is the Palazzo Farnese. The palace was built in the 16th century for the Farnese family. Today it houses the French Embassy in Italy.
This was such a precious memory for us during our visit to Rome. The walk around the neighbourhood with Matteo was such an eye opener. We learnt so much from Matteo — from photography tips to the history of the place and the local life and food of the people. Matteo taught us how to factor lighting in, which resulted in awesome photos. He gave us tips on photography which we will definitely use from now on. The local cafe with pasta, pizza and fried breaded rice croquettes (suppli) were delicious! Will definitely recommend Rome Photo Walk with Matteo 😊👍
It was an absolute pleasure spending the morning with Amandio! Our kids aged 10 and 8 were engaged with facts, games and jokes. Our youngest shared the tandem e-bike with Amandio as there was no complaining about pedalling up hills. Lots of local knowledge and history. Thank you Amandio for such a memorable tour!
My friends and I truly enjoyed our time with Matteo exploring the streets of Travastere in Rome. He is a wonderful, warm person who is a delightful photographer - both from creative and technical perspectives. He is great at making the personal connection to the people he is guiding. In our group we had both beginner and more advanced photographers and he was able to provide each of us a great experience. We met him at 5pm and ended the tour at 8pm - this was a great time to do the tour for the light, shadows, and sunset colors over the river. I hope to see Matteo again someday for another great experience in Rome.
I had a terrific time with Matteo. He started out asking about some of my photography and what I am interested in. As we walked he discussed light, contrast, shapes, etc. We'd discuss an image and each take some photos. He'd critique and provide useful guidance. All the while showing me and discussing the sites in the areas we walked. It was a great experience and I enjoyed the company.
