There are plenty of things to do in Rome today. From wonders of the world to the Sistine Chapel, cozy restaurants or well-preserved Roman ruins, explore Rome today for an unforgettable experience. Below you can find exactly what to do in Rome today to have a memorable trip. Roman Forum Get a taste of roman history at the Roman Forum. This well preserved UNESCO site comprises most of Ancient Rome’s most important structures. Government houses, monuments, and temples. Walk past the Arch of Septimius Severus towards the Temple of Saturn, the Arch of Titus and the House of the Vestal Virgins. Tired from all the history and walking around ruins? Relax and refresh yourself with an aperitivo at one of the bars in the area. Colosseum How would you like to tick one of the new 7 wonders of the world off your list? The Colosseum was mainly used for gladiators’ fights around the year 80 AD. It can hold almost 50.000 spectators, making it a massive complex. The Colosseum is considered to be an engineering wonder as well! Top off your day with a glass of Italian wine and some pasta for an authentic experience. Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel If Michelangelo’s La Pieta and the Raphael Rooms are not enough to convince you to visit the Vatican Museum, maybe the Sistine Chapel will do the trick! Michelangelo’s most acclaimed frescos, beautifully decorate this room. The Chapel is famous around the world for its beauty but also because the Pope election ceremony happens there. Saint Peter’s Basilica and the square are also a must, so if you’re looking for things to do today in Rome, reserve it for Vatican city. Trevi Fountain Make a wish! If seeing the most beautiful fountain is what you wished for, you don’t even need to throw coins in it anymore. Oceanus, the god of the sea, and his Tritons will make your jaw drop. Trevi is beautiful day or night but if you want to experience more of the local atmosphere go there after the sunset and explore the local bars and restaurants.
My family did a food tour of Rome with Claudia and we thoroughly enjoyed it! It was a great introduction to Rome, and we meandered through the streets of Rome and tasted the most delicious local food and drinks, including delicious Roman pizza, Supplì - a well known fried Roman street food made from rice and mozarella, the best coffee we've ever had in our lives, creamy Maritozzo buns, porchetta, and the most delicious antipasto and cheeses. We were definitely full and very contented by the end of it! Claudia was friendly, informative, and she works in the food industry, so she was the perfect guide. She was kind enough to recommend other food places to try in Rome and other cities we were visiting on our trip. Claudia's tour also included some history of Rome, including a walk past the ruins of Largo di Torre Argentina where Julius Caesar was assassinated, Piazza Navona and a quick visit of the magnificent Sant'Agnese in Agone Church - truly magnificent. We loved our time with Claudia and definitely recommend this tour to others!
Paola was an incredible guide—warm, knowledgeable, and full of local insight that made my short visit to Rome truly unforgettable. In just a few hours, she brought the city to life, guiding me seamlessly through iconic sites like the Colosseum, Spanish Steps, and Trevi Fountain. Her deep knowledge added so much meaning to each stop, and she tailored the experience perfectly to what I wanted to see. We ended our tour with an amazing lunch at Angie’s—an absolute gem I never would’ve found on my own. Grazie mille, Paola! You made my first time in Rome so special.

Simone was a lot of fun and designed a tour to show us the sights of Rome we had not seen before yet.
