Cannaregio is one of the six sestieri of Venice, lying in the northernmost part of the city. It is the largest of the six sestieri by land area and the second by population. Cannaregio stretches from the Grand Canal up to the lagoon and includes two small islands, San Giorgio Maggiore and San Michele. Cannaregio is home to a number of interesting sights. The Cannaregio Canal is one of the busiest in Venice, lined with a variety of shops and businesses. The Rialto Bridge spans the canal, providing access to the Rialto Market, one of the city's most popular tourist attractions. The Ghetto of Venice was established in Cannaregio in 1516 and was the first ghetto in Europe. The ghetto was home to a large community of Jews who were required to live in a specific area of the city. The Cannaregio district is also home to the Ca' d'Oro, one of Venice's most iconic buildings. The Ca' d'Oro is a palazzo on the Grand Canal that was built in the 15th century. The palazzo is one of the city's most visited tourist attractions, due to its ornate architecture and beautiful location.
We had a great evening with Olimpia on our Drinks and Bites in Cannaregio tour. Olimpia is plugged into the local scene and knows the best intimate places to take you to get a taste of authentic local flavors and vibes. She is fun to talk to and speaks excellent English. Highly recommended.
Giada was a joy to experience our first night in Venice with. She took us to some great locations, we tried amazing food, and drinks. She’s extremely knowledgeable about the history of Venice. She’s very warm and will make you feel welcome. If you have any reservations about whether you should book here’s your sign to go ahead and book the experience you won’t regret it!! Thank you Giada my husband, and I loved the tour!!!!
We needed a break from the crowds and this city has so much to offer and Rocco helped us find that and more. A great historian and he took us to fun wine bars. We explored parts of the city we would have never done on our own. He helped us with planning our final day in Venice and we enjoyed sharing movies ideas. I would recommend starting your. Venice trip out with Rocco!
We thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour with Giada. The restaurants she chose were off the beaten path and the food and wine tastings were excellent! She also gave us a bit of history about the local neighborhoods that we visited. Since our final stop was a fair distance away from our hotel, she took the time to walk us back to our hotel which was much appreciated. We would highly recommend Giada as a tour guide!
