The Perfect Place to Get a Little Lost

Get to know Venice the local way in a day! From starting with a gondola ride and finishing with a glass of Chianti in a tiny wine bar, there are plenty of intriguing things to do in Venice in 24 hours! Below you can explore some fantastic suggestions for what to do in Venice in a day to create Insta-worthy moments. Morning: Breakfast and a gondola ride Getting lost is one of the best things to do in Venice! Start at Rialto Bridge and follow your nose towards St Mark’s Square. Wind your way across the bridges and allow the ebb and flow of this stunning city to guide you through quaint shops, mask markets, and tiny canals. Have breakfast along the Grand Canal, ride a gondola beneath the Bridge of Sighs and admire the stunning yet crumbling architecture from the laid-back water's edge. Afternoon: Lunch and island hopping After a super chilled lunch in St Mark’s Square, it’s time to catch a water taxi to the surrounding islands. You may like to head to Murano to shop for glass, learn the craft of glass blowing with a private workshop or explore the art of mask making. Visit the island of Lido for a taste of residential life in Venice before making your way back to the Grand Canal. Evening: Dinner and a tiny wine bar Nights in Venice are particularly atmospheric as the city has very little artificial street lighting. Stroll through the cobbled alleys, have dinner at a romantic waterside café and get a little lost again. There are plenty of tiny wine bars to discover - some as small as two tables - and you’ll be rewarded with a surprise finds and one-of-a-kind bars as you explore the quiet squares by moonlight.

An enthusiastic storyteller

We had a marvellous afternoon with Elena. She is friendly, enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable about both history and general life in Venice. I have been to Venice at least twenty times before, but I learned so much new about Venice from Elena. I will definitely book another tour with her when I come back to Venice (which I certainly will).

So personalized!

This was my second time Giada She asked many questions before the tour to make sure she covered what I was interested in. Loved the church of Saint pantalone. Would never have found it without her.

Best Tour Ever!

This is not our first time in Venice, so we wanted something different, and so chose the food tour. Claudia exceeded our expectations in every way! In addition to teaching us about traditional Venetian foods, she taught and showed us lots of hidden gems and even took us up to a rooftop view of the city. And adapted it to aboid the super high steps of Rialto Bridge. Claudia is very friendly, smart, well educated and super fun!! It was like taking a tour from one of our family friends. I can highly recommend Claudia for the food tour but she will be great no matter which tour you choose.

Amazing Food Tour in Venice

I have to start by saying our time with Alex was our favorite part of our two days in Venice. She showed us the world of local Venice cuisine and embraced our adventurous food pallates. From showing us the best "Trammezino" and explaining how the Euopean tea culture impacted the local Italian treat to delicious fried anchovies in cheese, to the BEST hot chocolate cake we've ever tried. Alex was knowledgeable, engaginging, informative and a joy to spend time with. We look forward to more tours with her if we return to Venice.
