27 Things To Do Today in Kuala Lumpur

  • Enjoy a Warm Meal

You're missing out so much if you haven't tried the wonderful flavors of Malaysian food, and nothing compares to a meal prepared by locals in the coziness of their homes. Feel their love for spices, exotic and fresh ingredients, as well as friendly conversations. You’ll see how much the people really put their hearts into preparing amazing dishes for their guests!

So while the rain is pouring outside, you'll be busy filling your stomach with fried rice, Rendang, Kuih, or whatever it is your host prepares for you! Hands down one of the best things to do in Kuala Lumpur on a rainy day!

  • Shop till the rain stops!

Looking for things to do in Kuala Lumpur on a rainy day? A shopping spree in the local malls is super exciting, especially when you have so much time to spare since you're avoiding the rain outside anyway! Clothes, shoes, arts & crafts, food or souvenirs, you can have them all!

Your local guide will take you to some of the best shopping centers in the city such as Suria KLCC, Mid Valley Megamall, and One Utama. There are so many choices! And don't forget Berjaya Times Square that has its own indoors theme park and roller coaster ride, so you can still have a lot of fun while staying dry all the time! Don't miss out on this opportunity!

  • Get around with a personal driver

If you are still searching for things to do in Kuala Lumpur on a rainy day, have your local guide act as your personal chauffer for the day. You'll get to stay dry inside the car, while being able to go anywhere, anytime, without much hassle.

You would also get the opportunity to have the car stopped as close as possible to your intended destinations, and a quick dash out from the car will make sure you won't get soaked. Also, the car ride itself is something to look forward to, as you'll get to see the streets of KL while engaging in interesting conversations with your friendly host.

  • See the city from the top of KL Tower

If you want to see the city from the coolest spot out there, try the KL Tower. The tower itself is really amazing and the top view there is just spectacular! You'll be able to see the entire city, the whole Klang Valley, and even as far as Genting Highlands. Your local guide will help pinpoint and identify what you're seeing, and provide insights into what makes the city so special.

The view might not be as clear as during a sunny day, but you'll get to see a rainy day in the city from totally different perspective. And when your tummy starts grumbling, head on above the observation deck, for there's a unique revolving restaurant that serves delicious food above the clouds, giving you a heavenly experience!

  • Spend your day at KLCC

Adding this unique experience in your list of things to do in Kuala Lumpur on a rainy day is a must. There's just so much to do here. Apart from shopping at the Suria KLCC mall, you can also visit Petrosains, an interesting place that uses interactive technology to teach science in a super fun way! There's also Aquaria KLCC, one of the biggest aquariums in the world which houses thousands of different exotic marine life forms.

And once the rain has stopped, stepping outside will give you a magnificent up close view of the majestic Petronas Twin Towers! Highly recommended for you!

Amazing!

Manjeet gave us the most fantastic food and cultural tour. From start to finish she was amazing! As part of the group we had one person who is coeliac (gluten free) as well as a 4 year old child. From pre-booking discussions we knew we were in great hands as she was really knowledgeable about being gluten free and even supplied a multi-language allergy alert card to use in Malaysia. The tour was adapted to cater for our dietary requirements (even going to a place where the chef is gluten free!) and the food was incredible - a good mixture of sweet and savoury! Our tour included a ride on the train to Little India, which the 4 year old loved, as well as a trip to a bakery. She included cultural landmarks and adapted the tour so we could see the padang and colonial area. She followed up with a list of all the food tried, as well as more details about places to eat gluten free within Malaysia! We cannot speak highly enough of Manjeet. She was engaging, knowledgeable, thoughtful and knew just where to find amazing food! Make sure you go on this tour hungry as there was so much food!! Thank you so much!

Fabulous food tour

Ruth was an amazing guide and we sampled the best food. Ruth and Naru explained the history and culture behind the food we sampled. There was plenty of delicious food… some advice don’t eat before 😀

Fabulous!

We did the ten tasting out with Manjeet and what a way to start our holiday! Manjeet is incredibly knowledgeable not just about the food but the history and stories behind each dish too. As we made our way through the streets of KL Manjeet explained the history around us. From the very start, she ascertained what we liked and then tailored tastings to suit us, with a few surprises on the way. She even very kindly bought us a few treats to take away and have later. Her English is perfect too, probably better than some of my English friends! We would highly recommend Manjeet, for her knowledge, humour, wit and she is just lovely!

Perfect for food & culture lovers

Manjeet is a native Malaysian who knows and loves much about Malaysia's rich and diverse food culture. She also gave us lots of tips about variations of dishes and where to find the best or most traditional versions. We walked around multiple neighborhoods, both modern malls and old Chinatown. She was happy to answer our questions. We were very happy with the tour and strongly recommend Manjeet.
