My wife and I recently spent some time with Ellie strolling around the Sagrada Família. It was a wonderful tour. Ellie was professional and clearly very knowledgeable about the Basílica and its architect, Antoni Gaudí. Along the way, we also leaned much about Catalan culture and Barcelona itself. Ellie provided insight on what to expect and look for once inside the Basílica. From our external tour, she clearly broke down all the comprehensive (and staggering) symbolism that makes up the exterior of the church. Ellie is an excellent communicator and it was a pleasure to spend time with her. We learned a lot not only about the site but also what to watch for while in Barcelona. Highly recommended.
Ellie was an excellent guide in Barcelona. She picked us up from our cruise ship and showed us all the highlights. We got out in several locations and took photos.
Having known about the Familia Sagrada all my life and then finally being there, we certainly were most fortunate in having Ellie for our family tour guide. Her deep and wide knowledge of the diverse aspects of the phases, timing, progress, purpose, meaning and numerous symbols of the exterior and interior architecture of the building made our visit intensely satisfying and rewarding.
We, as a party of four, had a deeply satisfying visit to the Sagrada Familia with our guide, Pili. She met us at the Casa Mila and immediately helped us see “light” as an energy, as she explained Gaudi’s training and vision as an architect. When we sat in a cafe with her and then circled the Sagrada and saw the solid glass forms she personally created for one of the towering spires, we were captivated. Inside, she revealed hidden details and spaces and showed us how the colors from the windows radiated their afternoon power. She was warm, humble, accommodating and, as a sculptor herself, passionate about the role of the Sagrada in the life of the city. It was like getting a personal tour of the building from a close friend of the man himself. Thank you so much, Pili.
