There are several private hot springs in Beitou, yet they get booked too often due to their popularity. Don’t worry, your local guide in Taipei will arrange to book a room for you in advance. • Attend a cooking class at a local Taiwanese kitchen

Taiwanese are passionate about their food and if you want to learn more about their local food culture, attending a cooking class with a local is one of the activities in Taipei that you should try.      On this hands-on class, you get to take part in the preparation and cooking process, while your host introduces you to the local ingredients. At the end of your class, you can devour your own creations while you listen to your host’s interesting stories about the history of their food.

  • Release a sky lantern and make a wish at the Shi Fen Old Street

Releasing sky lanterns is among the most popular activities in Taipei. In fact, there are Lantern Festivals being held all over the city each year. This tradition dates back to the ancient Chinese period where lanterns were being released to the sky at the beginning of the year as some sort of prayer for the coming year.

One of the best places to experience this one of a kind tradition is at Shi Fen Old Street, a small town that used to be a thriving coal-mining district of Taiwan and is about an hour away from Taipei. After releasing your lantern, your local guide will take you on a short walking tour to discover the ancient buildings along the old street of Shi Fen.

  • Learn calligraphy at a Taipei Calligraphy Workshop

One of the most exciting activities in Taipei is joining a Chinese calligraphy workshop. The workshop is organized by a group of locals in a casual setting where you get to learn what Chinese calligraphy is all about and even take part in a hands-on experience of handling a brush. Attending this workshop is a great way to immerse your self in the local culture and discover how this artistic expression of the human language came into existence. What is even more exciting about this activity is that you get to create your own masterpiece and take it home with you as a souvenir!

  • Join a food tour and feast on the most delectable local street foods

Raved as one of the best food destinations in the world by several travel blogs, Taiwan’s culinary philosophy is all about eating often and eating well enough. In fact, Taipei has more than 20 streets dedicated to food alone. And just when you thought you had already found the stall that serves the most delicious beef noodle soup, there will always be another stall that will surpass it.

Best tour in Bangkok

We absolutely loved our tour of hidden gems by Sudarat. She was just fantastic. Extremely accommodating and kind as we had one person with a bad knee. Sudarat took us to some really amazing places and shared so much history and told us the meaning of certain things in the Thai culture. It was exactly what we were looking for. We would book again with Sudarat as this was our favorite tour on our trip.

Unforgettable and unique

Dear Saravarint What a great tour, what an experience. In our last few hours in Bangkok, you gave us another great and unforgettable insight into a special city and a great country. From the food court to the flower market, through the narrowest and most hidden alleyways to the hard-to-find gems of the city. You broadened our horizons with your knowledge. Unfortunately, the time went by far too quickly, the booked 3 hours became 4 without a wink. We would have liked to have listened to you for a long time if our imminent departure hadn't brought the trip to an abrupt end. And so there was suddenly no time to say goodbye in peace and thank you. You made our visit to Bangkok unforgettable. KOP KHUN KRAP!!! It was unique. Best regards, Juerg & Karin
