How to Spend the Best Weekend In Taipei

Are you thinking of spending a weekend in Taipei? If so, then the city has a lot to offer for you. Whether it’s exploring the temples and museums or food tripping at the night markets, you’ll surely have the best weekend in Taipei! If you’re not sure what to do in Taipei during the weekend, then refer to these tips to help you plan for your trip: Saturday: Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall Start your weekend trip with a visit to Taiwan’s most significant historical landmark. Wander along the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Park and learn a bit of Taiwan’s culture and history. Make sure you visit the National Theatre and the National Concert Hall that’s also within the complex. Saturday: Museums and Art Galleries Spend some time at the National Palace Museum that’s home to almost 700,000 artifacts and art collections. You can also visit the Ama Museum, which is dedicated to the comfort women during the Japanese occupation. The Museum of Contemporary Art in Taipei is a must visit if you want to view the contemporary works of the country’s best artists. Saturday: Night Markets Taipei is famous for its night markets where you can feast on the tastiest Taiwanese delicacies at very reasonable prices! In fact, visiting these night markets is one of the best things to do in Taipei this weekend. So when night time comes, make your way towards these markets, such as the Shilin Market. This busy market is lined with street food stalls, selling everything from stinky tofu to cheese scallops and grilled seafood! Sunday: Taipei 101 As the most popular skyscraper in Taiwan, the Taipei 101 is a must-visit on your short visit to Taipei this weekend. Take the elevator towards the observatory to enjoy a panoramic view of the city. Check out the shopping mall on the first floor if you want to enjoy a bit of retail therapy. Sunday: Elephant Mountain If you want to include a bit of adventure on your trip to Taipei, go hiking to the Elephant Mountain! Follow the hiking trail, which is close to the Taipei 101 tower. It takes about 20 min to get to the top and once you’re there, you will be rewarded with the most amazing views of the city! The best time to hike is in the late afternoon so you can catch the beautiful sunset from above!

Great Bike Tour!

Jessica was a great tour guide! We loved our tour through Taipei. The bike tour was an easy ride along the river, which was beautiful, and a fun way to explore Taipei. Included lunch which was authentic and great tasting. Highly recommend Jessica and this tour!

Great Taipei Experience

Our visit to Taipei was thru a cruise ship which meant limited time onshore and overpriced shore excursions to touristy areas. We wanted to see and experience the “real” Taipei where the locals live and do their daily routine. Judy and David were great! They dove us right into best areas that would have taken us hours to find on our own. Plus the ratio was 2on 2! My wife and I with Judy and David, you can’t beat that for personal service. If you rather be in a group of 25+ people being herded like cattle by a flag waving tour guide then don’t design up for Judy’s tour!

Fun Coastal Escape from the City!

I really enjoyed this multi-faceted tour! We strolled the old streets and visited one of the more ornate and older temples along the river and then pedaled along the scenic river stopping to explore the mangroves along the way. Our ultimate destination was a picturesque and bustling bay teeming with history, food vendors and activity. We arrived in time to enjoy some tasty treats and take in a majestic sunset. Jessica was a great guide and a fun travel companion. I highly recommend this tour!

I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible experience to our tour guide Toku and the the organizer Jessi provided. Your passion for your work and genuine enthusiasm for sharing your knowledge made our journey truly memorable. The trip to the sun-moon-lake was one of the best trip i had over my Taiwan trip. Thank you so much for everything.
