Workshops in Chiang Mai

I had a wonderful and inspiring afternoon. Not only is Suranat very passionate about leather and about working and creating with it. He is also a patient teacher and explains everything step by step. He also comes with an interesting background. Thank you for sharing! I can totally recommend this experience for people who enjoy artisanal work and who would like a peaceful time in a quiet surrounding. (Don‘t muss visiting Wat Umong after the workshop which is close by.)

My time with Suranat was wonderful. Everything was neatly prepared, each step of the process was explained in detail and you could always have a trial before going to your leather piece. After many years offering this workshop, Suranat is still very patient with newbies and so passionate about his work. It was wonderful learning this amazing trait from him. I hada splendid time and achieved a gorgeous little bag. The location of the studioos easy to find and located in a beatiful area with a stunning forest Wat / temple around the corner.

Suranat was one of the coolest people I’ve met in Thailand (and the bar was set really high). The class was unique and super helpful for learning the basics of leather working- which I look forward to using in my craft at home. His studio was clean and well lit, he created an accepting environment and was amazingly easy to talk to. Highly recommend it!!!

Suranat is one of a kind. He truly has captured the spirit of handmade products with his sincerity and passion. His studio is as warm and inviting as is he is. The workshop will not only teach you about the art of leather making but it will allow you to stop being 'just a tourist' and connect with a local artist. We will visit again soon Suranat! best, John
