Minty was an excellent guide! She picked us up at 8:30 in the morning, at our hotel, and took us to an elephant sanctuary, where we got to interact with the elephants and learn all about them. It was such a fantastic experience! After the elephants we were taken to a local lunch place and had a great meal before heading out to the sticky waterfall. Minty knew exactly where to take us and showed us how to go down the waterfalls safely. She also explained which waterfall route was easiest and which was the hardest. Without her we would’ve been lost! She was a great guide, but not only that she was a very sweet person and we really enjoyed our day with her.
Worth the early morning start... a temple visit guided by Kit is a must do in Chiang Mai - He has excellent English and gives his personal insights into the Buddhist way of life. Early morning ensures the temple isn't busy, and the coffee and visit to the jungle temple makes a great morning trip.
My morning with Kit was really wonderful. He shared a lot about his life as a monk and I talked about what was going on in my life too. At the temple, I loved the giving food to the monks ceremony. Seeing the care that Kit took to make sure each monk got the food that would please them really made an impact on me (the kids got chicken wings). And sharing the sunrise with him was special. I mostly appreciated his asking me questions we could both equally weigh in on like what's most important in life, gives most satisfaction, parenting things, etc. It made for the kind of conversation I wanted to be having on this trip. Thanks Kit, you're a Sweetie!
I booked and took a day trip to Doi Inthanon with Naphat. This excursion made a huge impression on me historically, scenically and spiritually. Naphat is a very experienced and versatile trained tour guide with a flair for captivating people. The in-depth conversations and detailed explanations of the various places visited far exceeded my expectations. Among other things, I was able to experience first-hand insights into coexistence in a mountain village. This and the explanations about Buddhism in everyday life touched me very much and I am very grateful to Naphat for that. I can highly recommend Naphat to anyone looking for something more than just landscape images.
