We booked a full day, 13 hour trip with Pai (Ruetai) around Phuket. We had already made a plan for a spa appointment in the middle of the day (only one available) and our flight home in the early evening, so we knew one of the bigger scheduled tours would not work for us. We reached out with some of our thoughts and she promptly provided us a sample itinerary that checked all our boxes. When I reached out to other companies, they either replied with the same sample itinerary from their website, or did not reply promptly at all. Many had lacking reviews or mixed reviews with claims like not being provided an English speaking guide which gave us pause. Pai as a tour guide was very knowledgeable - she knew many facts about Phuket, Thai culture, Buddhism, and each of the sites we visited. Her answers usually piqued our interest and would lead to longer casual conversations as we learned more and more. Her willingness to work around our unusual schedule made our trip possible. Her suggestions for different stops - like the cashew factory - made our tour feel personalized and more intimate. Importantly, she always had a smile on her face and would share funny stories and good times with us, often helping us take the goofy photos we wanted at our stops. Her English is fluent and we had no trouble conversing at length. Our travel was very comfortable in a typical luxury Thai van. Water, coca-cola and towelettes were provided and refreshing on a hot day. We took her recommendation for lunch and quite enjoyed it as well. The driver drove in a very safe manner. We arrived on time to all of our appointments. My group and I highly recommend a trip with her. If we return we would be sure to reach out to see a second day of Phuket, and we will be recommending her to friends and family who travel to the region.
