I hired TK for two day trips out of KL: Malacca on day 1 and the Cameron Highlands on day 2. This review is for the day 1 trip to Malacca. TK has a great personality. He is friendly, and as soon as I got into the car he made me feel at ease. He constantly checked in on me, making sure I was comfortable. The 2 hour trip from KL passed quickly as we found many common interests and topics to talk about. TK also took this time to teach me some of the history of Malaysia in general and Malacca in particular. TK was clear with me from that start that to get a really good Malacca experience, I should go and stay the night. In fact, he recommended a three days/two night stay to really experience the city. Visiting as a day trip from KL meant we would only see a few highlights and wouldn't be able to get to many off-the beaten path attractions. As I was only in KL for two full days, I accepted that I would only get to see a few top attractions. It was also a holiday weekend, so TK explained there would be extra crowds, as well. Even so, I enjoyed the time we spent in the city. We had local nyonya laksa curry and cendol for breakfast, followed by pork satays with pineapple sauce for lunch. We also had popiah and chicken rice balls on the street. In addition to the usual tourist areas of Christ Church and Victoria Fountain, Forto A Fomusa, and Jonker Street, we also made it to a beautiful Buddhist temple just outside the city which probably isn't on a lot of tourists' list. We also took the river boat tour, which was quite relaxing. All in all I see why TK recommended more than taking just a day trip to Malacca. There was a lot more to see and experience, but given my time restraints I felt TK did a great job curating the areas to see and experience.
