Let's hit the road and explore the quiet ancient town of Nicaea, also known as İznik today. Before hopping in my car, enjoy a local breakfast by the beautiful Sapanca lake near the town of Sakarya, and then get ready for a road trip through the Samanlı Mountains to explore Nicaea together!
Ibrahim is a very nice man but his description of the day tour was misleading. He describes time for both breakfast and lunch which he did not follow through on, nor was there a ferry ride. He day was also inly about 9 hours, nowhere near the 12 offered. Additionally the museums were closed on Monday, which seemed to surprise him.
On the other hand we did enjoy our ability to walk around both Iznik and the Bursa bazaar.

Fantastic road trip!
Ibrahim was fantastic and our trip was really amazing. I enjoyed our trip so much because Ibrahim is not a professional tour guide. He is a local. For me sometimes professional tour guides can give you too much information! So much my brain cannot hold it and I forget everything. But Ibrahim was extremely knowledgeable on the issues that I wanted to know about. And what he didn’t know he found for me. Ibrahim was friendly and personable and made me feel extremely comfortable and at home. Not only was he a great guide but a wonderful cook and very knowledgeable about Turkish food. I can’t wait for my next visit to Istanbul so I can book a new adventure with Ibrahim!
