We had a wonderful time in Istanbul with Ahmet. He showed us around the main city attractions and explained in detail the (many!) historical events that took place over the various places visited (Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cisterns, Grand Bazaar, etc.). This was definitely the highlight of our trip and we'd encourage anyone visiting to benefit from Ahmet's lovely personnality, humor, good mood and wealth of knowledge by booking a tour. Perfect day in Istanbul!

Ahmet is a perfect example of what a local guide should be - not young, but experienced; delicate, yet persistent. He knows Istanbul like a back of his hand and always at your service if you need extra story. From the first moment to the end we enjoyed this tour. Ahmet was very attentive, professional and knowledgeable about history. A humorous gentleman with a very pleasant manner. The length of the tour was significantly longer than booked because it was important to Ahmet to show us as much of Istanbul as possible. My father and I took private tour with Ahmet. We had already seen primary attractions in Istanbul (Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basicilica Cistern, etc.) so I asked to see some less visited historical sites. Ahmet delivered and we toured the historical walls and other landmarks where we were some of the only tourists. He was very punctual meeting us 15 minutes before our scheduled time and we ended a bit late because he wanted to ensure we got back to the district we were staying. He gave us lots of history and also a great glimpse of what life is like in Istanbul (answering any of our random questions). We had a great time and would absolutely work with him again when we come back.Off The Beaten Path
