Hi there, my name is Akarin or Andy to my friends. I am a half Bangkokian - Chiang Mai citizen and passionate about history and culture.

A cool thing to know? As a Phd graduate, I teach cultural heritage management in universities and if you are interested in performing arts, I’m also a traditional Thai classical dancer and teacher specialised in Thai mask play as well as a small cafe owner in a local community in the old part of Bangkok.

Born in Bangkok of Chiang Mai mother, I love both of my parents' hometowns for their distinctive cultures, heritages and lively atmosphere, they are different, yet, as equally homes to me!

On my tour, you’ll experience the old parts of either Bangkok or Chiangmai, both famous and hidden places, with authentic bites along the way that you shall never forget.

Andy was extremely knowledgeable about Thai history and is a great story teller. He made it fun and enjoyable hearing about all of the mythological characters in Thai history as well as modern day updates on Thailand and its people. Andy was a fantastic tour guide! He has a deep knowledge of the history and culture of Thailand/Siam and does a wonderful job weaving it into the tour, also explaining the different customs and traditions of Buddhism and Hinduism through stories and examples. He even went out of his way to ensure we got on the correct ferry and train after our tour. He was also very interested in learning about the history and politics of our country. Great experience for our first visit to Bangkok!

We spent two mornings with Akarin. Prior to arriving in Bangkok, we shared the sites we wished to see and Akarin planned two morning tours for us. The first day we (my tween son and I) went to The Royal Barge Museum, a floating village and then to Wat Arun. After the tour Akarin made sure we got back to our hotel safely. He rode the ferry boat with us and then organized a tuk tuk for us. The second day some friends join us (3 adults and 4 tweens total) to see the Royal Palace and Wat Pho. Akarin was really patient with the kids and helped to make connections to the stories he shared to things they would understand. Again at the end of the tour, Akarin helped us to find a local spot for lunch and made sure we knew how to get back to our hotels. Akarin's English is excellent. He was able to share his knowledge and stories and answer any questions we had. I would not hesitate to book Akarin again.An Excellent Story Teller

As a family of 5 with 3 kids of 4, 7 and 8, we really appreciated Andy’s attention to detail regarding keeping our kids as comfortable as possible in the heat. We had extra pit stops for ice cream and substituted some walking with a boat. Andy’s knowledge is vast and not just of Bangkok history - my daughter was impressed by his knowledge of Hindu gods and Greek mythology as well! We really delved into a variety of topic areas :)Enjoyed our afternoon in the old town

Our time spent with Andy was really fantastic, he is very knowledgeable, well spoken, patient and enthusiastic about his work. The three of us (including a 6 year old) spent two days in Bangkok with Andy and we could not recommend him more, we learnt so much about Thai history and culture. His knowledge of Buddhism through the years is impressive, he is exactly what we were looking for. If you want a big cultural, religious and sociological Thai bath, look no further! Superb experience

The tour by Akarin (Andy) was fantastic. He was able to tell us lots of interesting information and stories about the palace. He was extremely knowledgeable and would 100% recommend. Every time we visit a new city, we hire a private guide. Most of them have been pretty good, but so far, Akarin has been the best. He created a tour that perfectly suited our needs—full of knowledge about history, religion, and the present. He could answer any question we had. It was the best afternoon ever!
