I am Mexican by birth but Italian by adoption and from the first time I set foot in Florence I knew that this would be the city in which I wanted to live and I have been very happy here for 30 years now. Its culture, history, gastronomy and lifestyle were the reasons that made me stay. I love traveling, meeting new people and being able to share the best of the curiosities that this city offers! Ana gave us an unforgettable tour of Florence that went far beyond the usual sights. On a sweltering August Sunday, she skillfully navigated us away from the crowded tourist hubs and into the quiet, tucked-away corners of the old town—places even a repeat visitor like me had never seen. Her deep knowledge and thoughtful pacing made the city feel fresh and intimate. The food experience was a true highlight. Ana introduced us to local culinary treasures—charming spots tucked into alleyways and behind unassuming doors—each offering a taste of authentic Florentine flavor. From savory bites to sweet indulgences, every stop felt like a secret shared just with us. She also gave us fantastic recommendations for continuing our exploration on our own, pointing us toward local restaurants and hidden gems we would’ve easily missed. My husband and I had the best time on this tour! Ana was incredibly knowledgeable about the city and showed us some spots we definitely would not have found on our own. While it was very hot and the timing of our tour was not ideal, as we were visiting in August and a lot of places were closed for the summer vacation, Ana filled the time seamlessly and gave us plenty of different options, keeping us in the shade whenever possible and getting us cold and refreshing drinks to fend off the heat. We learned a ton about the city, ate some of the most delicious and authentic food either of us had ever tasted, drank delicious wines, and finished off the tour with refreshing gelato. Ultimately, we don’t feel as though we missed out on anything due to closures and the heat was well worth it for the experience Ana delivered! Highly recommend! Ana was the best!

Ana is lovely and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting her. She was warm, friendly and helpful, she even offered to help if we had any queries during the rest of our stay. It was an expensive activity for what you get. The beignets, meats, cheese, bread, wines, biscuits and gelato were delicious, however the pizza was terrible. It was lovely to chat with someone who has made Florence her home. Ana also accommodated our quirks (one vegetarian, one with a nut allergy, one that doesn’t drink). An enjoyable activity for all the family to do together. Ana is lovely

Ana was a great guide. Very knowledgeable about sites and locations around Florence. We enjoyed tastings at three locations. It was extremely hot the day of our tour, but Ana kept things lively and fun. Enjoyable Florence Tour

We had a great experience walking with Ana. We were three adults newly arrived in Florence. We had booked the tour from home. Communications with Ana before meeting were excellent, both in greeting and for arrangements to meet on the day. We met at a café/bar on the Duomo piazza. Ana was charming and most welcoming. After introductions we had coffee and learnt from Ana some of the customs around bars and coffee, most helpful for the rest of the week (we have toured in Italy before but it turned out that there was much we did not know!). Ana then took us walking, mentioning, explaining, informing and advising as we went, collecting useful recommendations on where we might eat during the week. We visited some points off the tourist trails with interesting stories. Ana was thoroughly engaging. We had stops for coffee and wine. A particular memory will be cheese and cold meat tasting at a delightful small, old-established delicatessen, finishing at a favourite gelateria. Quite deliberately we took our tour on the first evening of our visit to Florence and appreciated the suggestions and advice for further visits during the week of our stay. Ana was thoroughly good company. We came away delighted with the experience. We will be very happy to use ‘With Locals’ again on future city holidays. Thank you Ana!

I am so grateful that I had a tour with Ana today in Florence. Not only is she able to clearly explain the real treasures and history of Florence, she is obviously very passionate about this amazing city, it's history and culinary delights.
