My name is Ana, and I welcome you to my beautiful city!

I'm an official tour guide from Granada, where I was born and raised. I would like to tell you a little more about myself so you can choose me as your next local guide.

I studied Art History at the University of Granada. Then I took a Master's in Production and Researched History and Fine Arts, so I have all the knowledge to show you this astonishing place.

During my university senior year, in 2014, I earned a scholarship and started working as a guide in a museum in the city center, there is where I learned most of my skills as a guide. It was also the time when I realized I would like to work as a tour guide, so I took up language lessons to apply for official accreditation.

When I finished my Master's, I took a gap year, so I could travel a little around before starting a full-time job.

I lived in Liguria, northern Italy, for a while, and also in Edinburgh, Scotland. It was a great experience, I learned a lot about other cultures, and made me improve my Italian and English. Then, I knew I was ready for the hard work.

Meanwhile, I started my Ph.D. and sometimes is tough working and studying at the same time, but I think of my thesis as my hobby, and is easier that way.

I have also written several articles about Granada, Alhambra, and the Christian period right after 1492, published in very important magazines.

When I have some free time I like to read, a lot. I am also a collector of rare and old books, which is one of my greatest passions. I do like traveling, and I have been to many places. One of the best things about being a guide in monuments like the Alhambra is that you have the opportunity to talk and share experiences with people from all over the world, and for me is a great enrichment. It's like traveling and being home.

My personality is calm and patient. I know how to manage difficult situations, and politeness is my main rule. But don't worry! I am not serious at all, you will see me always smiling.

My daughter and I booked Ana for a morning visit to the Alhambra and were glad to have her company. She was very easy to get on with and good at answering our questions and pointing out details in the Nasrid palaces that we would have missed had we been wandering around on our own. Having her to explain the significance of various features helped make our experience of the complex even more memorable. Having a personal guide is relatively expensive but I felt it worthwhile for a visit to such a special place. Ana was good at communicating, ensuring we knew where to find her on the day, and at the end of our tour kindly emailed us recommendations of some places to eat in Granada. You can easily spend most of the day at the Alhambra and I would recommend Ana as your guide for at least some of that time. An enjoyable and informative morning

Our group of 6 loved exploring the Alhambra palace with Ana. Ana was so informative and interesting. We all loved learning the history of Granada and also some really good recommendations of places to eat and things to do like the flamenco dancing. Our group of varied ages 20-50years all enjoyed themselves. We also had some of the local food and wine with Ana which was so delicious. We ate things we would not know to order and it was so nice to have someone else ordering! Would thoroughly recommend Ana as a tour guide Exploring Granada with Ana

After we had already experienced the "Hidden Gems" with Ana, we also visited the Alhambra with her. She organized the tour so well that we were able to visit all the palaces and places almost undisturbed. She told both the history of the Alhambra and many additional stories, creating a vivid picture. We also got good restaurant and insider tips for Granada. Ana has been a really great guide through our discovery of the Alhambra, a perfect mix of focus and background on historical and cultural importance, artworks, and even the nature, birds and flowers.
