My name is Ana, and I welcome you to my beautiful city!

I'm an official tour guide from Granada, where I was born and raised. I would like to tell you a little more about myself so you can choose me as your next local guide.

I studied Art History at the University of Granada. Then I took a Master's in Production and Researched History and Fine Arts, so I have all the knowledge to show you this astonishing place.

During my university senior year, in 2014, I earned a scholarship and started working as a guide in a museum in the city center, there is where I learned most of my skills as a guide. It was also the time when I realized I would like to work as a tour guide, so I took up language lessons to apply for official accreditation.

When I finished my Master's, I took a gap year, so I could travel a little around before starting a full-time job.

I lived in Liguria, northern Italy, for a while, and also in Edinburgh, Scotland. It was a great experience, I learned a lot about other cultures, and made me improve my Italian and English. Then, I knew I was ready for the hard work.

Meanwhile, I started my Ph.D. and sometimes is tough working and studying at the same time, but I think of my thesis as my hobby, and is easier that way.

I have also written several articles about Granada, Alhambra, and the Christian period right after 1492, published in very important magazines.

When I have some free time I like to read, a lot. I am also a collector of rare and old books, which is one of my greatest passions. I do like traveling, and I have been to many places. One of the best things about being a guide in monuments like the Alhambra is that you have the opportunity to talk and share experiences with people from all over the world, and for me is a great enrichment. It's like traveling and being home.

My personality is calm and patient. I know how to manage difficult situations, and politeness is my main rule. But don't worry! I am not serious at all, you will see me always smiling.

I had the pleasure to do a private tour with Ana of The Alhambra and Granada highlights on August 12. Her historical knowledge,background in art history and deep knowledge of the cultural transition of The Alhambra and Granada were the highlight of the tour. Yes, of course, the site itself is amazing on it's own. The private tour allowed us to move seamlessly through the Alhambra while providing us time to go deeper on topics of high interest. We had such a great tour. Ana was a fantastic guide and made our experience perfect for my 78 yo mother and 7 yo daughter. We loved listening to her explain the architecture and culture and laughed at her anecdotes about the sultans. She understood the needs of our family and adjusted the pace of the tour to our needs. Fantastic!Loved every minute!

If you're looking for a local guide, Ana is incredible. She is knowledgable about Granada, the Alhambra, and is willing to adjust and collaborate to make sure her tours focus on the things that matter most to you. She also has a wonderful speaking voice and conducts her tours with excellent pacing to ensure you see what you need to see, but have time to wander, ask questions, and reflect on what you are seeing. Highly recommend!Ana is a wonderful, knowledgable guide!

We thoroughly enjoyed touring the Monastery, Cathedral and Chapel with Ana. She is very pleasant and knowledgeable, giving us much insight into the history of the region as well as the architecture and art of these amazing places. Definitely recommend. Granada monuments tour with Ana.
