I'm André and I live in Porto.

I was born up river in the wine region of the Douro valley. Probably because of that wine and food are two of my favorite things.

Travel in or out of Portugal is probably the favorite. Mostly I love to discover new places and learn about how people live in different places and environments .

I've also have a passion for photography, in which I have a degree, interestingly enough not taken in Porto but in Lisbon.

Another passion is Music. I love to search for unknown tunes, old or new and sometimes djing just for pleasure.

We had a great day with Andre! He was on time, fun, clever, knowledgeable, a superior driver over tight roads, up-to-date on all matters of culture, Portuguese and global, music, politics, you name it We really enjoyed the places we stopped for wine tasting and especially lunch. Show up hungry! We had tons of food and drink and also learned about the history of Porto as we walked along the tour. Andre was very knowledgeable and friendly. Delicious food tour

Andre was amazing. With 9 ladies it is hard to move around and get all the taste put together, but Andre made it an amazing experience. We loved seeing the city, trying the foods and drinks. What a blast we had. I highly recommend this tour. I would try and do it your first day to get the lay of the land and see what you want to make time for. 9 Ladies walking Porto! We LOVED it!

A few days before our tour, I contacted the tour guide and advised him that I don’t eat pork. The tour guide confirmed that he could make food substitutions to accommodate my dietary restriction. Despite this assurance, during the tour itself, the tour guide complained about how hard it was to find non-pork alternatives. Since I had just participated in a different food tour in Lisbon, and that tour guide had no difficulty with finding non-pork options, I was surprised by how much of an issue this seemed to have caused. Separately from the dietary restriction issue, most of the food was cold fried foods or cold baked goods. The tour guide was sullen for most of the tour and my partner, and I struggled to have a conversation with him. Bad Experience; Dietary Restrictions

Our Porto adventure was made absolutely unforgettable, and the credit undoubtedly goes to André. From the moment we met, their passion for Porto was infectious, and their energy was boundless. André wasn't just a guide; they were a masterful storyteller. They didn't just show us the sights; they breathed life into them, weaving captivating tales of Porto's rich history, from the ancient Ribeira district, with its colourful, tumbling houses, to the soaring Dom Luís I Bridge, a true marvel of engineering. We learned so much more than we ever could have from a guidebook. What truly set André apart was their incredible knowledge and their ability to tailor the tour to our interests. They expertly navigated the charming, cobbled streets, revealing hidden gems and local secrets we would have never discovered on our own. Whether it was pointing out the most beautiful Azulejo tiles, recommending the most delicious Pastel de Nata, or explaining the nuances of Port wine, their insights were invaluable. They were incredibly personable and engaging, making everyone in the group feel included and valued. Questions were not just answered but welcomed, often leading to fascinating discussions and a deeper understanding of Porto's culture and people. Their warmth and genuine enthusiasm created a wonderfully relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere throughout the tour. We learned more about Porto in those 3 hours than in the rest of our visit plus previous visits. We had never fancied trying bifanas but the ones André found for us were nothing like the pictures we had seen. They were excellent, as was the rest of the food we tasted. André even took note of my request for a taste of Tripas à moda do Porto although he wasn’t able to find a dish at short notice. We learned the history of the establishments we visited and he also told us the story behind the buildings. The best 3 hours of our visit

My husband and I really enjoyed our walk with Andres. We opt for private walks because we always have so many questions about the history, architecture, culture, art, etc of places we are visiting and are able to learn so much more. We have had good experiences with withlocals guides and Andres was no exception. He was very knowledgeable, pleasant and enjoyable to be with. He answered our many questions and was not stuck on a script. We had a wonderful time and would recommend him to others.

Andre was an excellent guide, providing us with a fascinating glimpse into Porto's rich history. He was knowledgeable, patient, and answered all of our questions with a good sense of humor. It was clear he genuinely enjoys his profession. Andre also recommended some interesting sights to explore on our own, and we were particularly impressed with the restaurant he suggested that we tried – it was truly outstanding.
