I'm André and I live in Porto.

I was born up river in the wine region of the Douro valley. Probably because of that wine and food are two of my favorite things.

Travel in or out of Portugal is probably the favorite. Mostly I love to discover new places and learn about how people live in different places and environments .

I've also have a passion for photography, in which I have a degree, interestingly enough not taken in Porto but in Lisbon.

Another passion is Music. I love to search for unknown tunes, old or new and sometimes djing just for pleasure.

Andre was an excellent guide, providing us with a fascinating glimpse into Porto's rich history. He was knowledgeable, patient, and answered all of our questions with a good sense of humor. It was clear he genuinely enjoys his profession. Andre also recommended some interesting sights to explore on our own, and we were particularly impressed with the restaurant he suggested that we tried – it was truly outstanding. André is a fantastic guide--very knowledgeable and friendly, with a wealth of information about the city. My one regret is that I didn't pay closer attention to the website when booking because one of the reasons I chose With Locals was the advertised option to go on a tour that highlighted "hidden gems" and a local experience. André's profile noted his love of music and I was hoping the tour would revolve around that interest at least in part, but I now realize I should have hit the "customize this experience" button when booking. My mistake, but if that's what you're hoping for as well, be sure to request in advance.

We had such a great day with Andre! The weather was fantastic and the scenery was mesmerizing. André adjusted our start time as requested and brought us to spots one could never see on a bus tour. We learned so much! Highly recommend this tour and guide. Spectacular day in the Douro Valley!

My husband and I had a fantastic three-hour city tour in Porto with Andre. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the city’s history and architecture, and he shared many fascinating stories throughout the tour.
