We had an amazing time with Anselmo, he was punctual, super polite, very knowledgeable about wine and history of the area. We told him we were foodies and took us to the most beautiful restaurant with an amazing view and food. He was the one giving the wine tastings and explanation of the different wines. Totally enjoyed his company and wonderful tour. Highly recommended!The best tour / tour guide

There is just no other way to experience so much of Porto, Gaia, and the fishing villages around than on bike. Anselmo was amazing in navigating the terrain (you cannot completely avoid the hills) and getting us to beautiful views. His love of biking, his town and the people come shining through. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who can handle a bike well!The best local flavor by bike

Anselmo was a terrific host. The route was interesting passing a number of historical sites along the Duoro River towards the coast. The route took us off the beaten path along ancient city roads which was fantastic. One could walk few short sections depending one's comfort level with cobblestones or the incline. Our group of 4 recently had an AMAZING day tour of the Douro Valley with Alselmo celebrating my sisters birthday. He arrived promptly and introduced himself and we started the tour in his comfortable transportation. Alselmo shared history along the way and lots of laughs. During the tour we took a hour boat tour, which turned out to private, since no other passengers joined us. We brought a speaker with us, sang and sipped port down the Douro river. Next we visited CROFT vineyards, one of which we tasted port and he gave us the history of the types of port and a tour of the vines. He actually stopped at his local bakery and provided the traditional pastry during that tasting. We also visited Quinta Do Val Moreira vineyard that had the most amazing view of the Douro Valley. Alselmo scheduled a traditional Portuguese lunch, wines and dessert. Alselmo made it special by advising the winery that it was my sisters birthday and they made a cake just for her. After lunch we toured the winery and bought wine. Finally he took us to a look out site that had the most amazing view and then down to St. Vincent's church where we stopped next door for farmers port. I can't thank Alselmo enough for making my sister Colleens birthday so memorable. We had so many great laughs during the day. We all agreed that touring with Alselmo through the Douro Valley was the best day of our 10 day trip. Thank you Alselmo Amazing day with Alselmo

I highly recommend Anselmo. He is a very knowledgeable guide and an amazing cyclist. As Porto is hilly, you can ride the bike and get an amazing workout or even rent an e bike and just have a cruise. either way you cannot go wrong with hiring Anselmo to be your guide! i rate him 10 out of 10 as he is knowledgeable, experienced, and a super guy!Biking is a great way to see Porto

We had some rain, but that did not deter Anselmo from giving us an incredibly good visit to the Douro Valley! Excellent driver. Very positive attitude! He knows the history and all of the secrets! Be sure to give him a good tip. He deserves it!Anselmo is the greatest!

We (a group of 4 friends/2 couples) booked Anselmo for a private tour to the Douro Valley this October. The forecast was terrible but Anselmo was convinced we would be fine and he was right. As soon as we came through the mountains from the city side the skies cleared and we even had some sun. First of- Anselmo is a good driver so I could relax in the car which was great. Also his English is excellent which is a bonus. He is funny, friendly and knowledgeable about the area, landscape, history and about wine and port in particular. We learned a lot and he answered all of our questions patiently. He took us to incredible spots and we ate and drank like royalty and had a boat ride and just really enjoyed the atmosphere. There was no checking his watch and herding us along. We really felt like we could take our time and really experience the beauty around us. The personal touches really make a private tour so worthwhile. I would highly recommend Anselmo and his enthusiasm and love for his city/country and region. We will be back some day for sure!Super day with Anselmo to the Douro Valley

From the moment that Anselmo picked us up in the morning, we felt like we were taking a road trip with an old friend. The day was full of memorable excursions, beautiful vistas, unique stops, and lots of laughter. Spending the day with Anselmo felt less like a tour and more like a custom experience, with the comforts of a 5 star private excursion, but the stories, interactions and special touches that you can only feel with someone you trust and who you know has you in good hands. I am so grateful to have had this amazing day in the Douro Valley with Anselmo, it is a memory that I will cherish for a lifetime. Memorable, unique and fun!

Anselmo was the best tour guide and he designed the perfect route with the right amount of challenge. Coming from Colorado and as an experienced cyclist, I wanted a challenging ride yet also to see the important sights of Porto. Anselmo delivered. It was a very fun way to see Porto and the alleyways, cobble stones, and trails through the parks made the ride fun and interesting. Next time I’m in Porto, I’ll be booking with Anselmo again. Highly recommend him as your cycling guide! The best way to see Porto!
