¡Hola! I'm writer and journalist born (fifth generation) in Madrid. My passion is the city of CORDOBA where I Spent long time. I have many hobbies: Flamenco, XIX century literature, the magic Easter Processions in Andalucia, gastronomy... But my real passion is my own country. I'm fascinated by Spain and that includes Madrid where I can spend hours touring my own city.

My Madrid has got a brilliant sense of humor, is vibrant, and so alive. For me, Madrid has the perfect combination of a big cosmopolitan modern city with the tradition and charm of a village.

Great fall afternoon with Carmen on a walking tour of Madrid! Really interesting tour of the palace (outside) and palace cathedral then around the old town. Carmen was knowledgeable, helpful, pleasant and fun. Having a drink in Cerveceria Alamana where Hemingway used to hang out with bullfighters was a real highlight.Wonderful Madrid Walking Tour

Our tour was curtailed due to our crutches and wheel chair, so Carmen had to adapt our tour to avoid stairs and rough ground. She pulled together all her resources to give the best of Segovia by car with stops where we could negotiate the terrain. We had an excellent lunch with local specialties. I cannot speak highly enough of my experience with Carmen. I have visited Madrid several times and thought I knew the city reasonably well but Carmen’s knowledge and love for her city opened my eyes to so much more. On top of this her warmth and engaging personality made me I feel as if I spent a few hours hanging out with a friend. It was a wonderful evening full of fascinating insights and lots of laughs. Spent the morning exploring the barrios of Madrid with Carmen taking us to places we would not have experienced. Carmen’s English is good but she does have a thick accent so you have to listen carefully. We would recommend this tour.Excellent overview of Madrid neighborhoods
