I corresponded with Denise before booking as we wanted a tour that began later than the published tours as we were arriving to Christchurch later in the day. She graciously accommodated us and I appreciate that. We discussed and agreed to a 3 hour walking tour, and she sent a list of the sights this would include. The tour was to begin at 3pm and she told us the meeting point. I emailed her 4 days before the date confirming the time, the meeting place, and the 3hr itinerary. She confirmed. We arrived at the meeting point at 3:07 and after waiting 15 minutes I emailed her and she was in an entirely different location and was not aware of what type of tour it was or the length of the tour. Only after I sent her copies of her email confirmations did she agree she was wrong. Our tour began at 4pm. Denise was a nice person. The tour was adequate, but not interesting. At 6pm we'd had enough and ended it. Disappointing

We had a lovely afternoon with Denise. She explained the history of the city and give a great insight into the devastation caused by the 2011 earthquake and the plans for gradually rebuilding the city. Only a local can unlock the hidden parts of a city which you would not discover yourself. Thank you Denise Nothing like a local to uncover a city

Denise is very sweet and knowledgeable about Christchurch and New Zealand. She has an accent but her English is very understandable. She does need to speak louder however. Some in our party were not always able to hear her. The 2 locations we visited with the food and drink were excellent, with great food, wine and coffee or tea and the hosts there were very helpful. Denise did need to provide more information as there was too much unoccupied time. We would have loved to hear more that Denise knew about Christchurch and the food of New Zealand.Food and city tour in Christchurch
