Dilshan is the ultimate local guide in Galle. Genuinely passionate about his hometown it didn’t matter where we were everyone's knew Dilshan. We’d walk around a corner with another person saying hello to both Dilshan & ourselves. Big highlight was a visit to the cricket stadium & meeting Dilshan’s family & visiting his local area. Thanks Dilshan for a memorable day in Sri Lanka. A passionate Galle local

Let’s start with the things that could be better next time: we startet with a very long walk in the sun wich got a little bit exhausting after the time. Especially if you are not used to the sun. So bring enough water, sunscreen and a hat. And than Dilshan got not tired about telling me that a should have booked his β€žpersonalisedβ€œ Tours and not the tour I booked. Wich was a little downer because I booked exactly the tour I wanted. Anyway! It was a really good experience. I learned a lot about the city and it’s history and I saw so many interesting places. Which was good because I had not that much time I Galle and on my own it would have took me longer. Than Dilshan and I watched a cricket match in the park wich felt a little bit like going to match with a friend and I also learned quite a lot about that sport. We saw the fruit-, the spice- and the vegetablemarket and a after all we had lunch at one of Dilshans favourite places - delicious! Later on his father in law brought us to his family and we got a coconut from the garden, sat together and had a drink. I felt very welcome. It was a good experience and I would to it again! Thanks for inviting me to your house and showing me around, Dilshan.A familiar and informative day

We had a great day with Dilshan and his family. We asked if we could do a cookery course and Dilshan kindly offered to take us to his home where his mother in law would show us how to cook some traditional vegetarian dishes. Following a tour in a tuk tuk, a visit to a temple, a spice garden and an old hotel, we were driven through the countryside to Dilshan’s home to meet his extended family. What super, genuine and hospitable people. They even reassured us when a 2 metre snake slithered through the garden (which is full of the most amazing flowers). After helping to cook the meal we were left alone to eat and then taken to a wide road and taught how to ride a tuk tuk. The day flew by - all quite surreal but we loved every second.A super day

I cannot honor Dilshan, heshja (don't know how to spell his brother in law's name) and their families enough. This was an amazing experience and a must for all travellers that like to get Sri Lanka experience. The tuktuk lessen is nice but just a little piece of a great experience including a temple visit, market, galle fort and last but not least some time with the familiy while my dinner has been cooked. During that time we watched the cricket series (no clue but fun) and I was proud to be part of a celebration for the victory over australia. The dinner then was extraordinary. I think 12 dishes or more, just for me. I would recommend everyone to try a day with dilshan which lasted from 9 to 6pm. Thanks again my new sri lankan Friends!Amazing hospitality

Thank you Dilshan & Harasha we had such a great day!!! It's a fantastic experience you both offer. Thank you so much for the tuk tuk driving and also showing us how welcoming Sri Lankan people are :-) Loved visiting the temple and the wood carving workshop, and the food you shared with us at your home. What a brilliant day. We learned to drive a tuktuk and so much more. The tour of Galle fort was informative whilst not drowning us with information and it was fantastic to meet your family as well - thank you!Learn to Drive a Tuk-Tuk Like the Pros!

I booked a personalised tour with Dilshan, which is basically the tuktuk experience plus pick up and drop off in my hotel in Unawatuna. I enjoyed the tour immensely. As I like history and culture very much, he tailored it to what I like - skipping some things and adding more temples. It was a great surprise. Conversations with Dilshan and his brother in law, Harsha, were also very stimulating. They gave me great insights to the history of Galle Fort, bits of Ramayana, lessons from Buddhism, as well as everyday Sri Lankan life. I also got to meet their families; they were very warm and hospitable. The dinner was a normal Sri Lankan dinner (minus the chili!) and was very sumptous. I highly recommend Dilshan's tuktuk experience.Learn to Drive a Tuk-Tuk Like the Pros!

I recommend this tour. Where else can you get on an open road and drive a tuktuk? To top it off, you get to see a local family and extended family live in adjacent houses and eat a local array of dishes at their house. It's not awkward because you eat by yourself after (or before) the rest of the family members eat. So don't worry about long periods of awkward shying glances and mistranslated sentences. You see their garden of tea and fruit trees. Most of the food the put on the table is from their garden by the way. This tour experience gets you out of your hotel and off to see and feel something new besides the beach and colonial buildings. I think the tour info of all the various monuments/buildings/architecture in the fort will not satisfy the history buff, but likely is sufficient for the casual tourist. In addition to the fort, you'll go to the fruit and vegetable markets for a quick stop, a Buddhist temple in a rock, the Japanese Buddhist Peace Pagoda, and anywhere else you want to go...beach, woodcarvers tourist shop, herbal garden tourist shop...but you dont have to go to any of those places if you dont want to. Really, this should be considered a personal driver service with a suggested-but not fixed- site seeing list, with additions of driving the tuktuk yourself and eating ata local family residence. I am pleased I did this. 9/10 stars for being a new and valuable experience. I think the info on the history of the colonial area, info on the recent civil war, and info on cricket culture will all improve as these guys do this tour more. My guide was Arthur, but I spoke to Dilshan a few times on the phone. Sign up if you are in Galle. -Dav from USAA customized trip with Dilshan

We had a great stay in sri lanka, especially the day we have learned how to drive a tuktuk! Dilshan and his family gave us a very warm welcome. We were able to see the sri lankan life through their eyes. The whole family has received us at their homes, that was really special. Diner was delicious :). Thank you for this great day!Learn to Drive a Tuk-Tuk Like the Pros!

This is a review by Chris and Jasmin. We are a well travelled couple and have spent one day with Dilshan and his family. We met Dilshan at Galle train station and started our one day sightseeing tour of Galle from there. We were driven in a tuktuk by Harsha, Dilshan's brother in law. After visiting a temple, Galle Fort and a local market the boys taught me how to drive a tuktuk - really good fun indeed. And believe me, it's harder than it looks... At the end of the day we were invited to have dinner with Dilshan's lovely family in their private home. All in all, we couldn't have had a more enspiring experience. Dilshan and his family are simply amazingly friendly, open, hospitable, warm and wonderful people. Thanks for an unforgettable day, Dilshan!Learn to Drive a Tuk-Tuk Like the Pros!
