Ted is a delightful and engaging tour guide. He expertly led us through the streets of Aix, showed us the highlights and hidden gems and gave us the best and most delicious tastings along with a well thought out history lesson of the area. He was happy to change anything or go in any direction on a whim and tailored the tour to our interests as we went along. It was lovely getting to know Ted and Aix en Provence and his tours are highly recommended! Wonderful tour with Ted!
Edouard was friendly and knowledgeable in the history of Aix. provide us with tips on food and markets. We will comeback an definitely call Edouard!Excellent guide!
Edouard is an excellent and thoughtful guide. We also appreciated the accommodations he made to our schedule as well as his various recommendations and how he made himself accessible via email. .
We booked a private tour and were completely blown away. Édouard was warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly well-connected — he seemed to know everyone in town! We loved the blend of Franglais throughout the day (I speak more French than my husband, which added to the fun), and every stop felt like a hidden gem.
Highlights included the most delicious madeleines from Christophe (no line!), unforgettable nougat, cashews from Monsieur Praliné, honey, local confitures, lavender soap, and the best calissons we’ve ever tasted. Lunch at Les Gallinas was outstanding — the lamb tripe was a surprising standout — and we left with a full doggy bag and full hearts.
Édouard added just the right amount of local history and charm to make the day feel both relaxed and enriching. We truly felt like we made a new friend. Highly recommend Édouard and Withlocals for a personalized, delicious, and memorable experience in Aix!An unforgettable day in Aix-en-Provence
Edouard was exactly on time and ready when we arrived at our meeting destination. He was excited and happy for our meeting and gave us a quick synopsis of what he would provide for us this day. He knew Aix as the local that he is and had much to impart to us throughout our walk through town. Friendly, helpful, caring and especially knowledgeable about the local area and the history of this beautiful town. He would add small comments about the sights and recall historical facts offhandedly that were very impressive. A genuine expert in this town, his resident town of course. Highly recommended! He was a welcome addition to our visit to Aix. Edouard the Great
We couldn’t have chosen better for our private tour around Aix, than Edouard. He was interesting (sharing stories) and factual and gave us a complete understanding of this beautiful French village/town. We dined out for 3 nights on his personal restaurant recommendations and we were never disappointed! Thank you Edouard.Highly redommended

Ted is hands down the best tour guide in Aix-en-Provence! His deep knowledge of the region’s history, culture, and hidden gems made the experience truly unforgettable. Ted’s passion for sharing the beauty of Aix is evident in every detail, from the charming anecdotes he shares to the off-the-beaten-path spots he introduced us to. His warm personality and professionalism made the entire tour feel both informative and personal. If you’re visiting Aix-en-Provence, booking a tour with Ted is an absolute must. Highly recommend!Great guide
Very knowledgeable and passionate about the city. Tried to get to know the group. Excellent English. Offered many suggestions of restaurants and sites to see.
However:
Was supposed to be from 10:30-1:30 and instead was started early at 10AM but finished at 12pm. Normally this would be fine since vacation time is limited but later saw him with another group exploring the town. He did mention his family was coming to visit but specified it was the day after.
I feel my time was short changed.
Tastings:
1- Coffee
2- Nougout sampling (which is also offered for free if you do it yourself)
3- Pralines (which is also offered for free if you do it yourself)
4- Madeleins (was supposed to be a variety pack of different flavored ones but he mistakenly ordered 6 of the original and when he asked the store about it they questioned why he did not do it his usual way. He made no attempt to correct this and simply said sorry)
5- Market honey stand sampling (which is also offered for free if you do it yourself)
6- Market produce stand figs (which is also offered for free if you do it yourself)
7- One piece of chocolate
8-15 - A charcuterie board with 4 meats and 6 cheeses, and 1 glass of wine (per him usually only 5 cheeses)
He uses e-cigarettes during the in between time but does a good job of distancing himself when doing so.
So yes, technically he gave more than 10 tastings. What was presented however, in my opinion is not what the spirit of a food tour is supposed to be. For nearly 100 euro a head, definitely not recommended. 15 tastings but not what I was expecting
Edouard was charming. His English was perfect. His overall knowledge of the city - its history, its notable buildings, its shops and shopkeepers - was exceptional.
Ted aka Eduoard was a charming and fact filled tour guide and gave us a joyful afternoon including the wine and cheese tasting. We highly recommend him.TED talks with in-depth knowedge
