Firas was on time but was less than excited to be touring that day for some reason. We have used withlocals many times in several locations and this was our worst experience to date. On the train from Florence to Manarola we expected to get some history and/or the itinerary for our day. Instead he just let us speak amongst ourselves on the 1 hr train ride. It was lightly raining when we go to our 1st stop, we pulled into a local restaurant to try the focaccia bread and local wine, we really didn't get much background or story about either. He was good with finding places to get good photos, and getting us on and off the trains between the towns but nothing more. We told him we were interested in lunch, he really didn't have suggestions on which places might have diverse menus as 2 of 3 in our party do not eat fish. He basically just left us on our own for about an hour to get lunch. We usually invite our host to join us for lunch, but were happy to have the break from him as it was obvious he was having a bad day. Fortunately for us the weather broke and we got some awesome pictures and were able to stop in Pisa on the way back to Florence to get some photos of the tower and church but even that we had to ask and it felt like he made the detour reluctantly. He should also update his profile photo he uses on Withlocals he is 15-20 years older than his photo. Disappointed in Guide

Firaz is a wealth of knowledge taking time to explain the history and answer all of our questions. We never felt rushed and were able to stop along the way to look at local shops. No one could have done a better job.Incredible Experience

We felt we could have done the excursion without guide. Was not that informative. I had requested lunch in a certain area which never happened. We wanted to take 1:00 boat, that also never happened and the 3:00 was cancelled. Overall very disappointing for the price we paid.No worth the high cost

Firas was a great tour guide… he kept us on track and maximized our schedule. We were able to visit Pisa and 3 towns in Cinque Terre. We even got to ride a boat to Monterosso. He is very knowledgeable and had good conversations and recommendation for thing to so on our tour but also answered questions for things to do outside of our tour. I definitely recommend him and will ask for his services again when I am in Florence.Cinque Terre and Pisa Day Trip

We had a wonderful experience with Firas. We visited the Cinque Terre during a very busy time. He skillfully guided us through crowds and long lines. He set a nice pace that matched our physical stamina. I highly recommend him!

We were excited to visit Pisa and the beautiful cliff towns of Cinque Terre. Little did we know how essential having a guide to navigate the day trip from Florence would be. Five trains and a boat ride with big crowds of tourist who were not sure which way to go would have been impossible for us. So, at the most basic, he got us there and back without a problem. Although we would be anxious about making a train or finding a place for something to drink, Raphael always assured us everything would be ok. One of the highlights when arriving at Manarola was a table waiting for us in a very cool restaurant—wine and water served right up. It was surprising because we saw many lines outside restaurants. We were told we would have a little snack and were surprised at the delicious sandwiches we were served—enough that this snack was our lunch. We continued our tour and enjoyed the beautiful views from three of the five villages. Getting our train back to Florence was a bit exciting—the stairwell was crowded and folks were not interested in letting us by—even though Raphael was telling them our train was coming and that they were going to the the wrong side of the track. He walked us up the stairs through the crowd and we easily made our way back to Florence. I think the crowd of people were very surprised when they found themselves on the wrong side of they track. We really did enjoy the beautiful villages, shopping, and dipping our toes in the Ligurian Sea. Leaving the navigation up to Raphael was definitely the right decision!Could not have naviaged Cinque Terre without Firas

Firas was amazing!! He had so much flexibility, knowledge and insight in to what would work for us within the allotted time. We even got to stop in Pisa on the way back. He really balanced our time well. We thoroughly got to enjoy all the stops (3 in Cinque Terre) and Pisa. His restaurant recommendations in Florence were dead on as well. A truly warm unique and beautiful experience. We are extremely happy we chose him as our guide!!Incredible

Firas was great before we met. We scheduled the tour a day before because another tour we planned to do was canceled. Firas was concerned about the weather forecast and let us know he would cancel and refund because he didn’t want us to have a rain soaked trip. We decided to take the trip, and so happy we did. We had sunshine for much of it, and the little rain that fell was a drizzle that made the experience all the more magical. The Cinque Terre is stunning and charming, and the moment the sea air hits your nose is one to remember. Firas made it an easy, relaxed day, with some tasty bites and wine along the way in a local spot, and enough time for a delicious lunch on our own by the water. Thank you to Firas for such a wonderful experience. Magical Cinque Terre with a great guide

We felt it worth the extra expense to have a private guide to Cinque Terre, instead of being on a crowded bus and having to navigate through a group of people who might not want to stay or see the same things that we did. Firas set up the train schedule for us and it was nice to not worry about timetables or connections to get from Florence to Cinque Terre. It's about a 2.5 to 3 hour train ride, with a connection in Pisa, and once there, Firas navigated the trains and ferry between Manarola, Vernazza and Monterosso, which saved us time trying to figure it out. The cost for the ferry and train were included, as was a brief stop for a snack and drinks. We decided to cut our time short in Monterosso to be able to spend a short amount of time in Pisa on the return, since there was a change of trains there anyway. We were appreciative that Firas made those arrangements for us on short notice, plus accompanied us and provided narration for Pisa even though that wasn't a part of the original tour.Cinque Terre with private guide

The tour was amazing. Really nice places and very nice food. The trip by train has amazing views. Really recommend. Firas is super friendly and has a lot of knowledge about the cinque terre. Really recommend this tour with Firas Really nice tour and friendly guide
