Gustavo took the four of us Americans (two New Yorkers and two San Franciscans) in his excellent Mercedez Benz from Porto to the Duoro for the day. It was very hot, but the car was comfortable. He is beyond knowledgeable about all things Portugal, especially its political and social history. He took us to two wineries and an exceptionable place for lunch run by locals that was authentic, traditional cuisine, modest in price. Every minute spent with Gustavo was enlightening and informative. We can't recommend him enough! Great Day in the Duoro Valley with Gustavo

We saw all of the beautiful Douro valley with fantastic weather! Gustavo was engaging and very knowledgeable of the various wines of Portugal and recommended a great local restaurant with authentic Portuguese cuisine. The 2 wineries we visited were gorgeous and outstanding! We purchased some wine after a relaxing wine tasting on the patio at Pacheca Winery. If you are into wine as much as we are this was a great tour. Gustavo was very accommodating with our time schedule and got us back to our cruise ship with time to spare. Since the valley is a bit far from the port other guides we not willing to take us on this tour so use Gustavo if you decide to book this. Thank you Gustavo for a wonderful experience!Great Wine Tour

Nous avons eu une visite guidée de Porto avec Gustavo, et c'était parfait, surtout pour mes parents à qui le tour en français était principalement destiné. Gustave parle très bien français, ce qui a rendu la découverte de la ville beaucoup plus agréable et accessible pour eux. Ils nous a partagé beaucoup d’informations intéressantes sur Porto, et il sait transmettre son amour de cette ville. Mes parents étaient ravis !Super visite de Porto en français !

I picked Gustavo for our family visit to Douro valley based on his excellent reviews. I asked to start at 10 am instead of 9 am which he agreed to. At the start he stated " it was absurd to start at 10 am" to which one of my daughters responded that we like sleeping in and he said "well I don't work past 5". I did not address this to avoid it being awkward for my family for the next few hours. He did not give an overview of the itinerary. He got better and gave excellent descriptions of the wine and port, region, history, great lunch restaurant, wineries and had great spots to take family pictures. We did not have a boat trip which I forgot to ask about and he did not mention why/why not we were not doing it. It really felt that he did not want to do this tour for us and I was trying to navigate and ensure my family was comfotable and relaxed. Perhaps he was having a bad day.The experience could be better..

Gustavo is an excellent guide. Picked us up right in time. Smooth comfortable ride to and through the valley. He took us to the best spots for photos (and tolerated my requests for additional stops to take pictures of the train line - lol). He took us to the best wineries and a beautiful place for lunch. It was an educational and enjoyable day. Highly recommend Gustavo.Outstanding day in Douro

Gustavo took us on an excursion that will live in our memories for years to come . He went the extra mile to pick up a birthday cake and book a VIP picnic at the winery to make a special birthday surprise. Our conversations in the car were so informative and filled with many interesting anecdotes. We were a party of four, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Highly recommend Gustavo as your guide. We had a truly wonderful day with Gustavo. It the highlight of our visit to Porto. He drove us to Coimbra, Aveiro, Costa Nova, and was knowledgable and helpful in every way. He really goes the extra mile to make your visit meaningful and enjoyable. He took us to lunch to eat roast suckling pig at a restaurant he has been frequenting as a child. It was our favorite meal of our trip to Portugal. He also recommended a wonderful fish restaurant for dinner where we ate a fantastic grilled seabass and sardines -- with no other tourists there -- just locals. I would not hesitate to call Gustavo the next time we are in Porto.Fantastic Guide
