Hello! My name is Hiro. I was born in Nara, grew up in Osaka, worked in Tokyo, and came back to Nara 20 years ago.

I started working as a local tour guide in Nara 6 years ago. My main experience is bike tours, which I have done more than 3000 times.

I also offer food and drink tours, a walking tour of Nara Park, a Japanese traditional card game workshop, and an Origami workshop.

Although Hiro is a nice and polite person, the tour was the worst during a three week trip trough Japan. I asked to do the deer in the morning (wrote him and talked to him in person), he ignored it. Mostly we spent riding a bike around his neighbor. No stories, no background information, no historical facts. He then brought me to an tourist-ship where he only repeated the same sentence in a row. I literally googled everything. Then he dropped me off at the temple, said I can go and look myself - again: no explanation, no historical facts, no stories. I rushed through the temple, which was crowded due to a festivity (he didn’t know was going on). If he would have known it would have been better to do that earlier. Then he left me at the park, because he had another tour waiting. My precise wish I want to see the deer and also get information about the area - was not met at all. He lent me his bicycle then so I could at least explore the park and shrines and bring it bymyself back to his house. Considering I would have been better off alone with chatgtp as a tour guide, this was the most expensive bike rental ever :/ I was so disappointed. Sadly a rip off

Hiro was a great tour guide, full of interesting information and cultural insights. He was very patient and flexible and adapted the tour to accommodate the different needs of our family (daughters aged 13, 11 and 5). It was a pleasure to spend time with Hiro. Wow, an exceptional local guide and we've experienced many on this trip to Japan. Hiro took us to many places off the beaten track. In particular, a tiny place for sake tasting that only the locals go to. We met a "master sake maker" and learned some new things about how to serve different types of sake.Highly recommended

Von der Tour heute waren wir doch enttäuscht. Ja, wir haben mehrere Tempel und Schreine gesehen und sind fast 10 Km gelaufenen. Doch wo waren die „Geheimnisse“ von Nara, die versteckten Food Spots und Tipps? Auch die versprochene Erfrischung oder den Snack gab es nicht. Dafür hat sich unser Guide selber unterwegs zwei Eis gegönnt. Da hatten wir dich etwas mehr für den Preis erwartet.Wir hatten mehr erwartet

Our family of six did the 3-hour bike tour with Hiro. He met us at the train station. We took a short walk to his house to pick up the bikes. We all had a blast biking around Nara off the beaten path where we saw hundreds of blossoming cherry trees. He showed the area in Nara and a nice museum where Japan's first permanent capital was located from 710 to 794. We visited Tōdai-ji Temple and Nara Park. Hiro took photos and video of us during the tour which he Airdrop to us at the end of the tour. Hiro is proud to show his city where his family has lived for generations. Hiro was a super nice guide, who told us a lot about the history of Nara (but not to much). He biked with us to not crowdy but beautiful places and showed us all the „must see places“ too. We can recommend Hiro to all people who want to have a chilly, beautiful and very good planed day with a local Nara guy, with who you can also drink few sake glasses.perfect day trip by bike
