We had a wonderful day exploring Kuala Lumpur with Hoopy. She seamlessly wove together the city’s rich multicultural essence with insightful storytelling, warmth, and deep respect for each heritage.
From the awe-inspiring Batu Caves Temple, where we learned about Hindu traditions against the backdrop of a towering Lord Murugan statue, to witnessing the delicate craftsmanship behind Malaysia’s traditional Batik, every stop was an immersion into history and artistry. The visit to the magnificent Thean Hou Temple was a highlight, where she beautifully explained the spiritual and architectural significance of this Chinese landmark.
What truly set her apart was her kindness and attentiveness—ensuring we were comfortable, engaged, and left with a genuine appreciation for Kuala Lumpur’s diverse cultures. If you’re looking for a guide who is not only knowledgeable but also caring and passionate, she is an absolute gem!A Warm and Insightful Cultural Tour of KL
My wife and I spent a half day with Hoopy, traveling to Batu Caves and, an add on, Federal Territory Mosque. Hoopy was knowledgeable and fun to be with. Our visit to Batu Caves was the main purpose of the tour, but when we ended up seeing the Caves sooner than expected, Hoopy added a visit to Federal Territory Mosque. It was a welcome addition to our visit to Kuala Lumpur.
Hoopy picked us up at our hotel in downtown KL. Her car is nice and clean, she brought water for all of us.
During the trip to the caves, she gave us many information about Malaysia, the different groups, the food and some history. The trip took quite some time due to the rush hour.
We were early which was good as it was not yet crowded and Hoopy guided us through the site and let us know some basics about Hindu religion.
Although the statue, stairs and carves are impressive, the dirtiness of the site was a little bit disappointing.
After the caves, Hoopy took us to the waterfalls and we enjoyed coconut and swimming in the pools. She took care of us at all times and did not look after each minute of the tour.
Hoopy dropped us in Chinatown and gave us some good tips for the rest of our stay.
We would recommend Hoopy as very friendly guide, just do not expect each of your questions to be answered.
We would probably not go to Batu caves again but as said it was impressive.Nice guide, Batu caves maybe overrated
Hoopy took my two friends from China and me on a customized tour of Kuala Lumpur, hitting several memorable destinations. She explained in detail Malaysia's culture and society to my friends, who spoke Chinese. She went out of her way to accommodate our wishes, such as taking us to a durian restaurant where they kept cutting open the fruit in front of us until a satisfactory one was found. There was no charge for the discarded fruits.
We would not hesitate to recommend her for a fun time.Enjoyable tour with Hoopy.
I was looking for local people who can speak Chinese as my mother can't speak much English but can do Chinese. It was a great decision. Hoopy take care of my mum very well and make her feel very involved for the whole tour
Highly recommend Hoopy if you are in town. Good guide
Malaysia
Hoopie was exceptional! She crafted a well-balanced itinerary that was both organized and flexible. Her personal touch, including taking lots of photos of us and surprising one of our group with a birthday cake, made our trip unforgettable. She also led us to see monkeys safely of course. Highly recommend her for a fantastic Malaysian experience!Malaysia
We really enjoyed our tour of Malacca with Hoopy. She was knowledgeable and flexible. We told her we were interested in history, and she took us to see some great historical sights. In addition, we had a delicious lunch of Peranakan food. I mention her flexibility because my wife lost her glasses (they fell off her chain), and we spent a bit of time looking for them (luckily, we found them). But it didn't feel like we missed any of the tour. We also went shopping for batiks. We had a great time and would highly recommend Hoopy!Great trip to Malacca!
Hoopy thought she might be late to pick us up (due to unexpected weekend diversions) and kept us informed. She weaved her magic and was only 5 mins late.
A pleasant drive from KL to Melaka with discussion on various matters.
Hoopy took us on a marvellous walking tour of Melaka, with so much to see and absorb. Hoopy was very helpful in providing commentary, suggesting good photo spots, and ensuring the tour was at your pace. We stopped for a great lunch, and then more walking and a river cruise.
The drive back to KL took 3.5 hours. We weren't the only ones enjoying Melaka.
Thank you Hoopy, we hope to meet again.Melaka meanderings with Hoopy
