I had an incredible experience with Ioannis on an off-the-beaten-path tour of Athens. From the very beginning, he really listened to what I was interested in and tailored the tour to match. He took us through local neighborhoods that combined street art, culture, and history in such a thoughtful way. One of the highlights was when he showed us some hard-to-find ancient frescoes tucked away in an area I would have walked right past if I were on my own. Ioannis was kind, funny, and deeply knowledgeable. His English was perfect, and he made the whole experience feel relaxed and engaging. He even gave us great recommendations for places to eat after the tour, which turned out to be just as spot-on as everything else he shared. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with him and will absolutely book another tour the next time I’m in Athens. I can’t recommend him highly enough.A True Local Experience

We had the absolute pleasure of touring Athens with Ioannis, and we can’t say enough good things about the experience. From the start, Ioannis made us feel like we were spending the day with a good friend rather than a tour guide. He was so personable, friendly, and genuinely interested in making sure we had a great time. He took us beyond the typical tourist stops, showing us places around Athens we never would have discovered on our own — each with its own unique story. His knowledge of the city’s history and culture is remarkable, and he shared it all in a way that was engaging and easy to connect with. Our teenage boys especially loved him, and it was clear that Ioannis knew how to keep everyone involved and interested. We truly enjoyed every moment we spent with him and came away with a deeper understanding of Athens — and some great memories too. It was our first time in Athens and we had one day, having our personal guide Ioannis that showed us highlights and so many secrets, combining with funny and interesting Greek stories from the past and present - was perfectly what we wanted! We are a family of 5 who met with Ioannis on our first day in Athens. He was fabulous !! He was very knowledgeable about history and culture and shares with is us some Greek mythology too. He recommended wonderful out of the way places to go back to, which we did, including a rooftop bar and a delicious traditional restaurant away from the tourists. Would highly recommend Ioannou. Ioannis was the perfect guide. His initial greeting was gracious and welcoming. I had written to him before the tour to inform him that I required a slow pace and occasional rest stops. He crafted the perfect walking tour for these old bones. It was clear from his commentary that he loved his country and he loved showing it off to visitors. I would most definitely recommend him highly.

What a great experience we had with Ioannis. He clearly takes great pride in sharing his love for Athens and the food and culture there Don’t expect to walk around the touristy areas. Ioannis took us off the beaten path to vibrant local neighborhoods where we experienced how real Greeks eat and shop. The dinner spot he chose for us set the bar for every meal we had during our entire 12-day trip—it became our gold standard! Real authentic cuisine. Most importantly, Ioannis was incredibly accommodating, especially when it came to my food allergy. Not only did he handle it with care, but he also kept the mood light and fun and managed to turn those moments into laughs. Ioannis always found delicious alternatives so I never felt like I was missing out. Anyone with a food allergy knows how hard it is to share in the joys of food in other countries. We had a great few hours. Ianny is very nice and knowledgeable and showed us places we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Good pace, not overwhelmed with history but definitely appreciated the info he provided. Would recommend in a heartbeat.Great way to kickstart a trip to Athens
