Ioannis is passionate about his Athenian knowledge and carefully listens to your own interests.He explains that he is a court lawyer and actor by profession. He communicates politely and professionally to understand our wishes for the tour. We talked about what we had experienced already and skilfully Ioannis worked out that we were interested in art and modern politics. We are Scottish and he had interesting insights when comparing our legal systems for instance. Our conversation varied widely using the starting point of the Athenian archeology we walked past. We progressed to modern Greek art by visiting hidden spaces an art cooperative we would never have found. Next we were debating graffiti as art as we walked up the Plaka houses beneath the Acropolis walls with a fascinating story about their origins. He found hidden fresco details which again we would never found without Ioannis. We walked back down through the maze of small streets and markets. Again he skilfully guided us with our interests in mind. At each step of the way he was knowledgable and had an infectious enthusiasm for his local culture. We were returned to near our hotel in a master stroke at a bar called Noel. He understood our enthusiasm for whacky art! What a wonderful man and experience. A real privilege to meet Ioannis. Ioannis was very kindly able to accommodate us when we had a problem with our flight and were delayed by a day and I was worried we were going to lose our different bookings we had planned. He offered to move it to the next day and adapt the time to fit with another booking (for the Acropoli) we already had. Thanks to Ioannis we had a great time discovering some great places whether on the cultural /historical front or the food and drink front! We were able to see places and areas we probably would have missed had we not been with someone local. The concept of a local guide is amazing , I will be looking out for this on our travels in other countries and for Athens Ioannis was an extremely fun ,cheerful and interesting guide who I highly recommend, Thank you Ioannis!!!A beautiful tour with a great guide!!

Ioannis provided the perfect tour of the coastal area, tailoring it to what I was interested in seeing and doing. I think the best part is that he is a really great guy. He’s interesting and funny. Ioannis shares his perspective of a life in Athens and I learned a lot. He’s also a very good driver. Could Not Have Been Better

We had the most incredible experience on our food tour in Athens! From start to finish, our guide Loannis was knowledgeable, engaging, and truly passionate about sharing the best of Athenian food and culture. The variety of tastings were outstanding…everything from savory to sweet, with fun local drinks along the way. Each tasting told a story and Loannis made sure we understood the history and tradition behind every dish. Not only did we explore hidden culinary gems, but we also got to immerse ourselves in the vibrant local atmosphere. It wasn’t just a food tour…it was a cultural journey that left us with a newfound appreciation for Athens. If you’re visiting this beautiful city and love food, this tour is an absolute must. Ioannis was fantastic. He met us on time, showed us so much of the city that we wouldn’t otherwise have seen. He was so knowledgeable, his story telling was incredibly engaging. He answered all our questions and we were totally captured from start to finish. He clearly has such a passion for his city. We would 100% recommend. Perfect!

An excellent afternoon with insights that helped my understanding of life in Athens. The tastings were delicious, generous and a great introduction to food and eating in Greece. This was an absolutely wonderful experience! Ioannis is a funny and charming person who was a pleasure to spend the afternoon with. We were guided through Athenian markets, stores and sights (and given historic context to the things we were seeing) before we were taken to a local restaurant and experienced authentic Greek cuisine. Then we stopped at 2 other locations to get more food! We loved it! Ioannis was extremely accommodating to us and even spent additional time with us showing us some of his favorite local restaurants and bars that we might enjoy visiting during the remainder of our stay. He answered a slew of questions and we had regarding life in Athens, and shared his own travel experinces. Later that evening we enjoyed dinner at one of his favorite places, and had Spritz cocktails in his honor. I would gladly spend another afternoon dining with Ioannis and hearing his stories!Wonderful experience

We communicated with Ioannis easily prior to the trip. He always responded back quickly. We had a tight timeline and I had asked for specific areas to visit. Based on my requests, he provided his recommendations as to how to achieve visiting all the locations requested. The day of the tour, Athens had paused visiting the Acropolis due to high temperatures from Noon to 5pm. Ioannis improvised the tour based on this to make sure we achieved seeing what we wanted. He actually went above and beyond being willing to wait for us to visit the Acropolis that night prior to completing the balance of the tour. He was also able to keep the interests of my three teenage kids the whole time:) Our whole family(5) highly recommend Ioannis!!!Great Tour!
