Joao our guide was fantastic. He was outgoing, passionate, no-nonsense when it came to giving us instructions or telling us how things work in today's Lisbon. It was fantastic the way he described Portugal's history or Lisbon's recent past throughout the tour and he really won us over. Our group consisted of 3 couples and by the end of the evening, I must say that we were all ready to grab drinks with Joao and continue the interesting conversation over a bottle of wine! This was a wonderful experience with Joao, his family was very involved in the many changes in Portugal in the last 50-60 years and we felt his stories really relayed the country's ups and downs. It was a great 3+ hours, with a stop near the end to taste some local cheese and wine at a out of the way restaurant that was packed with locals.
