I am an International Olive Oil Competition Judge with 20 years of experience giving tastings and presentations of World Class Olive Oils. People love my tastings because they feel my passion and enjoy my humour while learning from the only Englishman who judges olive oil from Tokyo to Berlin, from Greece to Tunisia. Olive oil producers from all over the Mediterranean value my opinion so our cafe, where I hold the tastings, is full of oils from Spain (particularly delicious local ones made by a friend of mine), Italy, Greece, Portugal and Turkey. Even after all these years, I still love telling people all that I know about olive oil and surprising them with the incredible quality of the oils we have. It's such a joy for me to see them smile when they start to smell and taste the oils.

Johnny is totally full of olive oil knowledge and as full with enthusiasm. We sat under a shading tree trying a range of oils with shared thoughts and information spilling out from Johnny. His other half, Hellen was a dream and we couldn’t have felt more welcome. Would highly recommend 🫶🫶🫶10/10 Highly Recommend

The day was extraordinary and very well organized by Johnny. He’s an expert in olive oil. Being a small group and traveling in a single vehicle made it a friendly trip. In our case, we were also lucky to have beautiful weather. The visits to the old olive trees, the museum and the almazara were very interesting, and we finished with a wonderful lunch with olive oil tasting in a beautiful historical building with nice views over San Mateo. I recommend the trip, not only for foreign tourists, but also for Spaniards as you can learn about quality olive oil and practice English.An excellent trip around the theme of olive oil

Fun and interesting morning spent with Johnny at the cafe, tasting lots of different olive oils. We were shown how the professionals taste, learnt how to pick out some of the different flavours and learnt the value or not, of marketing phrases like 'first press'. We also enjoyed finding out more about Johnny himself.So much to learn, fun finding out

Johnny Madge was supremely knowledgeable about his craft and opened a door to Olive oil that we did not know existed. If you are looking for new experiences this is the one. You will not be disappointed. Olive oil awakening!
